New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemingly took another big-time shot at owner Woody Johnson as their beef intensifies.
It’s no secret that Aaron Rodgers and Woody Johnson haven’t seen eye-to-eye amid a drama-filled 2024 Jets season. It’s been reported that Johnson recently pushed for the idea of the Jets benching Rodgers, with other whispers stating the four-time MVP wants to play elsewhere.
If Rodgers wants to cool down rumors that the relationship between him and Johnson is just fine, let’s just say the future Hall of Famer isn’t holding up his end of the bargain.
One day after making comments on “The Pat McAfee Show” about the importance of ownership publicly “backing” its general manager and head coach, Rodgers threw further shade at Johnson in his presser on Wednesday.
Per The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt, Aaron Rodgers offered the following explanation when asked if he feels as though Jets ownership has offered the support of the head coach and GM:
“Is that a rhetorical question? I cited an example I’ve seen. There were other examples in Green Bay, both for and maybe not as for whoever was in charge. But I think it’s an important part of ownership to hire the right guys, set the vision and support them when the outside world is trying to tear them down.”
Pressed further on the question, Rodgers again passed on the opportunity to give Johnson a thumbs up:
“I’d have to look,” Rodgers said. “I’ll ask you guys, has there been a lot of public comments? Supportive comments?”
The Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh after a close Week 5 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London. Six weeks later, GM Joe Douglas was let go after just under five years at the helm. Jeff Ulbrich was named the interim HC after Saleh was let go.
Aaron Rodgers May Benefit From A Fresh Start In 2025
Rodgers’ numbers haven’t been that bad this year (a 62.5 completion percentage for 2,627 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions), so it’s unfair to put all the blame on him in Gotham.
That said, it’s evident that the Jets and Rodgers would benefit from a split in the offseason. This team needs to draft and develop a young quarterback, and A-Rod needs to go to a non-dysfunctional team that will give him the right coaching staff and front office management to maximize his talents.

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson has emerged as one of the most prominent figures in women’s basketball. Her outstanding achievements and dominant performances on the court have boosted her confidence in her skills. However, this confidence has recently caused her some trouble, as NBA fans criticized her for a recent statement she made.
In a recent episode of the “Roommates” show, Wilson stunned both the NBA and WNBA by claiming that she could defeat New York Knicks star Josh Hart in a one-on-one matchup. Additionally, she predicted that the final score would be 11-8.
“Score would be 11-8, me. I’m not saying you gonna go scoreless, 8 to 11 is pretty solid. So, what do you think it’ll be, Josh?” Wilson said.
Although Josh and Wilson both had a good laugh during their conversation, Wilson’s comment stirred up the basketball community. “She’d lose 11-0 w him only playing w his offhand,” one fan said.
