As Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys try to salvage what’s left of a miserable 2024 season, things it sounds like things could get even worse for the polarizing NFL owner.
Jerry Jones’ Cowboys fell 34-6 to the rival Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, marking their fourth straight loss of the season. And with starting quarterback Dak Prescott expected to undergo season-ending surgery on his hamstring, it’s not a stretch to believe that Dallas will finish with a top-five pick in April.
“After that, three of the Cowboys’ final five games are currently in key broadcast windows: a Dec. 9 MNF game against the Bengals, a Dec. 22 Sunday Night Football game against the Buccaneers, and a Dec. 29 national America’s Game of the Week slot at 4:25 p.m. ET on Fox against the Eagles.
All three of those games conceivably stand at risk for movement by the NFL in the league’s flex scheduling rules—particularly given that Cincinnati and Tampa Bay also have losing records, and Philadelphia could have a postseason slot locked up by then.”
Despite the awful on-field results in Dallas this year, one league source told Fisher that the league isn’t ready to wave the white flag on the Cowboys and their scheduled prime-time slots.

“They’re obviously having their troubles, but we haven’t given up on them,” the source told Fisher.
Jerry Jones Is The Reason For Cowboys Awful Season
Jones made the head-scratching decision to retain head coach Mike McCarthy despite a humiliating playoff loss at home to the Green Bay Packers. He said he would go “all-in” and didn’t add a single impact player via trade or free agency.
Derrick Henry had a desire to play for Dallas, but Jones claimed they weren’t able to afford him. He waited far too long to get his extensions done with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, causing unnecessary off-the-field distractions along the way.

Football fans are destroying Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and blaming him for costing CeeDee Lamb a touchdown during the team’s home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Since AT&T Stadium opened in 2009, Jerry Jones has faced immense criticism for refusing to use curtains to block out the glaring sun that shines through the giant glass windows. The weird thing is that AT&T Stadium actually has blackout curtains, but Jones refuses to put them up during Cowboys games.
Well, Jones’ me-first mentality proved costly during the Cowboys-Eagles game on Sunday. Lamb couldn’t locate the ball on what should have been an easy touchdown…because of the blaring sunlight that got in his eyes:
Lo and behold, social media wasted no time destroying Jerry Jones:
Jerry Jones Is The Cowboys’ Problem
It’s unfair to blame the players for the Cowboys’ on-field struggles this year. Even Mike McCarthy and the coaching staff can only take so much heat, because they’re not the ones who built this roster.
Jones said he was going “all-in” back in January. He made zero moves to make the Cowboys better, and now he’s paying the price. Costing Lamb a touchdown because of his stubbornness is just the cherry on top of a dismal 2024 season in Dallas.
