Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs had plenty to be excited about.
A 29-10 Christmas day blowout of the Pittsburgh Steelers gave them a record to 15-1 while clinching the AFC’s No. 1 seed in their quest for an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl championship.
Players were excited in the locker room, especially because now key players are able to rest in next week’s regular-season finale before a first-round bye in the postseason.
Andy Reid knew just how to celebrate as he ran in playing Santa Claus for your postgame speech.
Unfortunately, part of his speech had him getting blasted.
Reid, who has led the Chiefs to three Super Bowl wins, stated in part, “How ’bout those Chiefs?! That’s what I’m talking about. Merry Christmas everybody, proud of you. For the present, you get home-field advantage.”

This was clearly taken from former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson, who first stated, “How Bout Them Cowboys!” phrase following a playoff win over the San Francisco 49ers in 1993.
Patrick Mahomes Responds To Andy Reid Dawning Santa Suit
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was feeling the holiday spirit on Christmas Day and decided to do it big after the team blew out the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 66-year-old surprised his team dressed as Santa Claus in the locker room after the Chiefs’ 29-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday.
Following the moment, quarterback Patrick Mahomes said it might be time for Reid to hang up his Santa suit.
“He’s getting kinda skinny. He’s getting kinda skinny for the Santa,” Mahomes told reporters after the game.
“It’s good for his health,” Mahomes said of Andy Reid’s weight loss, “so he’ll be a skinny Santa from now on.”

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a hilarious reason for refusing to eat the post-game cake he received after leading his team to victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs cruised to a 29-10 victory over the Steelers on Wednesday to lock up the AFC’s top seed. The Chiefs are assured a first-round bye and need just two home victories to return to the Super Bowl for the fifth time in six years.
Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce were awarded red velvet cakes in the shape of footballs after Wednesday’s victory. When presented the cakes by reporter Stacey Dales, Mahomes hilariously stated that he couldn’t eat it because he’s watching his weight for the postseason:
Patrick Mahomes had a field day against the Steelers, completing 29 of 38 pass attempts for 320 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Kelce had eight receptions for a game-high 84 yards and one touchdown.
The Chiefs will presumably rest their key starters for Week 18 against the Denver Broncos with the No. 1 seed locked up. Mahomes has been nursing an ankle injury he suffered in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns, so the Chiefs would be wise to let him rest up until their Divisional Round game.

Patrick Mahomes & Chiefs Are Cruising Into Playoffs
The Chiefs have played in every AFC Championship Game since 2018, the year Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback. They’ve played in four of the last five Super Bowls, emerging victorious in three of them.
And despite a string of injuries to key players throughout the season, Andy Reid’s group has conquered adversity time and time and time again. With all that playoff experience and championship pedigree, the Chiefs unquestionably look like the team to beat heading into the 2024-25 postseason.
