Monday night in Albany, New York started off great for the LSU Tigers as they looked to contain Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. They started to build a sizeable lead in the first half, but then Clark decided she anted to become Superwoman.

LSU guard Hailey Van Lith had defensive duties against Caitlin Clark and she did not do a very good job during the Tigers’ 94-87 loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Elite Eight on Monday night.

Clark got the best of Van Lith and LSU, dropping 41 points on nine three-pointers and 13-of-29 shooting from the field to steer the Hawkeyes past them in the rematch from last year and send them to the Final Four.

At one point in the game, Van Lith let her frustration show after Caitlin Clark nailed one of her nine three-pointers, Van Lith could be seen shrugging her shoulders as she was confused on what she could possibly do to stop her.

ESPN’s cameras caught the LSU star’s reaction, shrugging her shoulders and looking like she had no idea what else she could do to defend the Iowa superstar.

After the game, Hailey Van Lith spoke to reporters and was asked about the tough assisnment of guarding Clark and she still sounded like a woman who had to guard her some more despite the game being over.

“I won some possessions and she won some possessions,” Van Lith said after the loss. “She’s very crafty and they put her in good stuff to where certain people have to switch on her. Kudos to their coach and their system, so it is what it is. She hit some tough shots that we were kind of willing to give her. And we let the others (players) score too much.

“Caitlin Clark was really good today.”
