The Denver Broncos had the Kansas City Chiefs beat on Sunday, but a last-second 35-yard field goal by Wil Lutz made everything go bad for them quickly.

It would have been the Chiefs’ first loss of the season and one piece of video shows it.

An illegal contact penalty on Brandon Jones before halftime wiped out a Nik Bonitto sack and allowed the Chiefs to extend their drive. Rather than holding a 14-3 lead and getting the ball back, the Broncos led 14-10.

That moment paved the way for what happened during the remainder of the game.

During an all-footage look of that play, it shows just how much refs screwed the Denver Broncos out of that game with a call that never existed.

The Denver Broncos were called for a penalty fans were right upset about, and CBS must’ve known it was bad because they didn’t show the replay.

The Chiefs have been involved in many close games so far this season, and mostly, all of them have involved some type of controversy that has benefited them in the end.

Instead of making the correct call, the Chiefs got to 9-0 on the year, and the Denver Broncos fell to 5-5.

The Denver Broncos Could’ve Made Some Real Noise By Defeating The Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes completed 28 of 42 passes for 266 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions and added three carries for 19 yards.

However, he went without a score in the second half as the Denver Broncos defense stepped up big time.

That potential victory could’ve not only put them two games above .500, but it would’ve sent shockwaves across the league.

VIDEOS: Social Media Detectives Uncovered A Ridiculous Amount Of Fishy Calls By NFL Refs During Chiefs-Broncos Game That Should Have Everyone Yelling “FIXED”

Social media detectives put together an eye-catching video of the NFL refs making several calls that benefited the Kansas City Chiefs in their 16-14 victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon.

Patrick Mahomes and the defending champions narrowly squeaked out a two-point victory to stay undefeated, thanks to a game-winning block on Wil Lutz’s 35-yard field goal attempt on the game’s final play. But this win did not come without some questionable calls by the NFL refs today.

The Chiefs have been on the right side of several game-changing officiating calls in 2024, and today was no different. The ML Football X/Twitter account shared a thread of Kansas City benefited from several botched calls by the officials, including an obvious holding penalty by the o-line that was missed:

Secondly, head official Brad Allen and the NFL refs called a head-scratching “illegal hands to the face” penalty on the Broncos that wiped out a game-changing sack on Mahomes:

And finally, an uncalled offensive holding penalty that led to Travis Kelce’s touchdown, the only major Kansas City put up today:

Those were certainly some bad calls/non-calls by the officials, but it doesn’t determine the outcome of the game. The Broncos essentially had to kick an extra point to win the game, and their special teams couldn’t block for Wil Lutz.

NFL Refs Have Been A Top Storyline This Year…Again

It’s never a good thing when the NFL officials are featured in the news. It means they’re making too many mistakes at key points of the games.

That has been the case again in 2024, but there’s also no indicator that the league will do anything to try and improve the quality of officiating. So fans just have to live with it, whether they like it or not.
