A new camera angle shows Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott nearly knocking out a ref after throwing the game-winning touchdown pass to Jalen Tolbert in Sunday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Dak Prescott broke the hearts of Steelers fans by throwing the game-winning four-yard strike to Tolbert with 20 seconds remaining. It capped off a strong night for Prescott (29-of-42 for 352 yards and two touchdowns), who has Dallas back above .500 for the first time since their Week 1 victory.

Mauricio Rodríguez of A to Z Sports shared an overhead angle of Prescott’s clutch TD pass to Tolbert. As you can see, No. 4 was close to (inadvertently) knocking out the nearby official with a fist pump celebration after Tolbert caught the pass:

Here’s a still image to show you just how close the veteran quarterback was to making contact with the official:

Dak Prescott is actually very fortunate that he didn’t make contact with the ref there. If he did, Pescott would have likely been issued a 15-yard penalty that would have put Pittsburgh in favorable field position for a game-tying kick attempt from Chris Boswell.

The sky was slowly falling in Dallas two weeks ago following back-to-back home losses against the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens. But with two straight gutsy road victories, the 3-2 Cowboys are back on track ahead of their Week 6 home showdown with Jared Goff’s Detroit Lions.

Dak Prescott Is Off To An Excellent Start For Cowboys

Dallas’ 3-2 record through five weeks isn’t jaw-dropping, but Prescott is doing his part in keeping the team in playoff contention. The 31-year-old has completed 65.4 percent of pass attempts for 1,424 yards, eight touchdowns and just four interceptions with a QB rating of 92.9.

Prescott finished second in MVP voting a year ago behind Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. If he continues his strong start, No. 4 will re-emerge as a contender to win the honors this season.
