Caitlin Clark has already made history in her first year with the Indiana Fever, shattering records and earning the title of WNBA Rookie of the Year in 2024. But despite a jaw-dropping debut season for fans and rivals alike, Clark isn’t slowing down. Instead, she’s back in training, taking her game to new heights with a fire that promises even more.
Clark’s competitiveness knows no bounds and although she declined an invitation to play in ‘Unrivaled’, the women’s professional three-on-three basketball league, she doesn’t let her arms down to stay in shape and increase her basketball skills by training intensely at Indiana Fever during the off-season.
In a video posted on the Indiana Fever’s social media, Caitlin made a statement that for a moment would seem to err on the side of hubris, although the tone, but more importantly what Clark has demonstrated on the court indicates that it is just another trait of her fierce competitive spirit by assuring that she is “just scratching the surface” as there are “so many areas in which she can improve.”
For a player who has already set new milestones in points and assists, this statement demonstrates that Clark has a very clear goal, to seek to be the best in WNBA basketball history.
During her rookie season, Clark not only broke records, but she dominated the court in ways never before seen. From her amazing three-point shooting to her court vision, she quickly became one of the most feared players in the league. But for Clark, her historic accomplishments are just the beginning.
