However, San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich’s scathing attack on Donald Trump is something very few have anticipated. He also emphasized the accountability quotient of public figures.
In a recent rant, Popovich went all out against Donald Trump. Accusing the ex-POTUS of promoting division and racism, the Spurs’ head coach called him “damaged” and “pathetic.” Unfiltered in his verbal attack, Popovich stated, “He’s pathetic. He’s small... He’s a whiner… He’s a damaged man.” The 75-year-old justified his words by exemplifying how Trump failed to curb racism and hate speech.
This led to several heinous acts during Trump’s Presidential tenure. According to Popovich, such a failure only escalated the situation and encouraged others to take aggressive and divisive measures more often. He also issued a stern warning to the people of America. The Spurs head coach pointed out that if left unchecked, the culture of discrimination can become a real headache for the country.

Gregg Popovich ‘Ashamed’ To Be A White Man
Back in May 2020, a horrific act was committed when a person of color, George Floyd, lost his life in public. Floyd was spotted lying on his stomach, with a police officer, Derek Chauvin, kneeling on his neck for almost ten minutes. Taking Chauvin into custody immediately, the officer was charged with second-degree manslaughter and murder charges.
Such a gloomy incident shook up the entire nation, and Gregg Popovich could not keep shut. Unable to bear the brutality of the situation, the Spurs’ coach urged the Whites to actively eliminate racism. He said, “I don’t know. … I think I’m just embarrassed as a white person to know that that can happen. To actually watch a lynching.” Thus, going above his sporting duties, Gregg Popovich has always remained a voice of protest apart from being a legendary coach.
