The Super Bowl champions were losing throughout before taking the game to overtime.
They went on to score, winning the showdown 30-24 at Arrowhead Stadium.
It took their 2024-25 NFL season record to a 8-0, the only undefeated team left in the league.
But a worrying injury to Mahomes put a downer on the night, with the quarterback giving an update on Monday.
He could be seen visibly in pain after hurting the same ankle he had problems with last week.
The 29-year-old was driving the ball in the fourth quarter looking for a game-tying touchdown.
He threw a pass to running back Samaje Perine, but as he did aggravated his ankle, without any contact by the opposition.
“Definitely scary,” Mahomes said.
“I think it hurt more, just because it’s the same ankle I rolled last week.
“So it scared me a little bit.
“But once I took a breath and calmed down a little bit, it ended up not being too bad.
“We went in there, got a re-spat and went back on the football field.
“You feel the pain, and that scares you.”
Patrick Mahomes’ endorsements
Patrick Mahomes earns over $50 million per season from his Kansas City Chiefs contract.
But the superstar quarterback also cashes in on his brand off the field.
Mahomes has a reported net worth of $70 million.
And that’s in no small part down to some of the brand he endorses.
The Chiefs star is the face of Adidas in the United States and appears in State Farm commercials.
He also pops up on adverts for Subway and Head and Shoulders.
Mahomes also became the face of energy drink Prime, which is owned by Logan Paul and KSI.
Mahomes was seen arguing with the Chiefs trainers and Andy Reid over the injury.
Chiefs head coach Reid had wanted to pull him out and put backup Carson Wentz in the game.
“I was trying to run off the field and they were telling me not to,” he added.
“It’s just kind of the football mentality.
“He said it and I was like, ‘Come on. We’re not doing this’.”
Mahomes, who was on the injury report last week for the first time, expects to play against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
