Patrick Mahomes needs a confidence boost that only one person on the Chiefs can provide

The Kansas City Chiefs have won all four games they have played in 2024. The two-time defending Super Bowl champions are the AFC‘s only undefeated team and one of only two in the NFL entering Week 5. It bodes well for the Chiefs‘ pursuit of history this season, when they could become the first team in league history to win the Super Bowl three years running.

But Kansas City‘s 4-0 start has come despite some struggles. The Chiefs have an average margin of victory of only five points, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes has shockingly thrown nearly as many interceptions (five) as touchdowns (six). As the two-time MVP tries to rediscover the best version of himself, there is one man standing in his corner, his encouragement unceasing.

Reid reveals what’s going on with Mahomes

Andy Reid is the only head coach for whom Mahomes has played in his eight-year NFL career. Back in 2018, Reid dropped Mahomes — then a second-year signal-caller with one NFL game to his name — into a team that was already pretty good, and he watched as Mahomes won MVP and Offensive Player of the Year honors. The following year, Kansas City won its first Super Bowl since 1969.

So when Reid spoke with FOX Sports 1 host Colin Cowherd this week about Mahomes’ surprising start to 2024, it was no shock to see the veteran coach stick by his signal-caller through a challenging stretch.

I’m here just to be a teacher, I try to help him out with whatever I can help him out with,” Reid said.

Reid’s primary job with a player as gifted as Mahomes is to be as optimistic and as confident as possible, knowing how much the pair has already achieved together. The Chiefs have won the Super Bowl three times since 2019, and Mahomes’ willingness to be coached is a big reason why.

“My point to him is keep firing,” Reid said. “You’re the best in the business, keep firing. We’ll keep working on the small things as we go there.”

Although standout receiver Rashee Rice is set to miss several weeks with a knee injury, few are willing to bet against Reid and Mahomes given their track record together. The Chiefs are more likely than not going to figure it out with the weapons at their disposal, and it’s up to the rest of the NFL to stop them.

NBA fans are praying for basketball icon Michael Jordan following the emergence of a certain photo.

Jordan, who is widely considered to be the greatest NBA player of all time, was in France this week watching Monaco play Barcelona. The teams squared off for a UEFA Champions League showdown at the Louis II Stadium on Thursday, with the home side snatching a shocking 2-1 victory.

Photos of MJ in the stands quickly surfaced online, with his eyes a worrying shade of yellow.

Check it out below:

The outing hardly marked the first time Jordan’s eyes got fans talking, but it appears whatever the condition is has gotten worse. Most fans are of the view that he’s jaundiced due to excessive drinking and could be dealing with liver problems.
