Caitlin Clark’s teammates took some heat for not having her back after she was decked by Chennedy Carter during Saturday’s showdown between the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever.
The Fever are 2-8 heading into Sunday evening’s clash against the New York Liberty, having won their first home game of the season in hotly contested clash with the Sky that went down to the wire.
The result has been overshadowed by Carter’s nasty body check on Clark, but it appears fans hardly noticed that one of the rookie’s teammates found it funny.
Aliyah Boston, who was getting ready to inbound the ball after Carter scored, initially showed some shock but began laughing while walking over to help Clark up from the floor.
Keep an eye on her in the video below:

Christie Sides Is Proud Of Caitlin Clark
Meanwhile, Fever head coach Christie Sides has praised Caitlin Clark for the way she’s handled the rough play.
“We’re just going to keep sending these possessions to the league, and these plays. And hopefully they’ll start, you know, taking a better look at some of the things that we see happening, or we think is happening,” she said, per the Associated Press.
“Just more happy that Caitlin handled it the way she did. You know, it’s tough to keep getting hammered the way she does and to not get rewarded with free throws or foul calls. She’s continued to fight through that. Appreciate that from her. Really, really proud of her for doing that.”
Clark finished the game with 11 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
“I wasn’t expecting it,” she said of the foul. “It is what it is. It’s a physical game. Go make the free throw and execute on offense, and I feel like that’s kind of what we did.”
VIDEO: The Entire Internet Is Accusing Kelsey Plum Of Being “Extremely Rude” To Female Reporter During Her Halftime Interview On Live TV
During halftime of Friday’s game between the Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever, Kelsey Plum was pulled aside to answer some questions about the game so far. When asked how the Aces started the game, Plum responded, “Ummm… I don’t know come back to me later.”
Of course, the video above accuses Plum of being rude during the interview, but many social media users have defended Kelsey.
“This is a lot of fuss over nothing. She was coming off the floor, a bit out of breath, and didn’t have time to collect herself. She answered the questions, and there’s no rule that says people have to like the answers,” said one comment.
“If someone stuck a mic in my face mid-game I’d be more than rude. This pro is focused on game adjustments and missing coaching instructions,” said another.
“She wasn’t being rude….shes human her adrenaline is going and yea like she explained after Kelsey Mitchell was COOKING…I’m not gonna answer a defensive question just yet until I’m ready to,” added a third.
Plum is a vital part of the Aces team, so it’s expected that she will see a lot of minutes in the first half of a game. Trying to do an interview while also catching your breath isn’t easy.
Kelsey Plum Is Having A Great 2024 Season
Plum has been an All-Star for the past three seasons, and it seems she is just getting started.
Through 36 games, she’s averaging 17.8 points, 4.3 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game.
Her 2022 season certainly looks better on a stat sheet, but at 29 years old, she doesn’t show too many signs of slowing down.
It’s also worth noting that Plum is currently helping lead her team to a playoff appearance with a 24-13 record.
