Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose was one of the big names at the Chicago Urban League’s Annual Golden Fellowship Dinner at Skyline Ballroom at McCormick Place on Saturday. The former NBA player was joined by his wife Alaina Anderson for the occasion, which was themed “Standing on Business in the Fight for Equity.”

Alaina posted a series of pictures and videos on her social media, sharing it with her fans. In one of the videos that she posted, she was leaning on her husband for a selfie video. Sharing a big laugh with Rose, Alaina hilariously said:

“The gala hates to see us coming.”

Derrick Rose celebrated his 36th birthday on October 4 last week in the presence of his family and friends. Interestingly, his wife Alaina Rose’s grandmother also celebrates her birthday on the same day of the month. What could be a better birthday feel to celebrate two of her loved ones’ birthdays on the same day!

The wife of the former NBA star took to her social media to shower love on both Rose and her grandmother. Alaina also shared a wholesome picture of her husband holding her grandmother’s hand.

“Happy Birthday Granny and Hubby,” Alaina wrote in the caption.

“The Loves of my Life.”

With Rose turning just 36 a week ago, it was possible that the former NBA star could be extended his career if he wanted to. However, the 2011 MVP cut his career short because he wanted to focus on his family and his children.

Upon his retirement, Rose placed a retirement ad on the front page of the newspapers from each city where he played basketball. The cities included Cleveland, Chicago, Memphis, Minneapolis, New York and Detroit.

After retirement, Derrick Rose also plans to train his son PJ Rose in basketball and take him to the next level.
