The NFL has flexed out the Miami Dolphins-Cleveland Browns Week 17 “Sunday Night Football” game for a more enticing game that should make everyone happy.

On Tuesday, the league announced that the Dolphins-Browns game has been removed from the Sunday Night Football slot. The Atlanta Falcons-Washington Commanders showdown at Northwest Stadium has been inserted into prime-time.

Miami and Cleveland both qualified for the postseason last year, but they enter Week 16 with records of 6-8 and 3-11, respectively. The 7-7 Falcons are one game behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the NFC South, while the Commanders (9-5) occupy the conference’s last wild card spot.

The Buccaneers will visit the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football this week. Though Dallas (6-8) is out of the playoff race, they again promise to deliver strong ratings as a big-market team.

Third Flexed “Sunday Night Football” For 2024

The Falcons-Commanders game marks the third swap of SNF games this season. Earlier this year, the Jacksonville Jaguars-Philadelphia Eagles game was taken out for the Indianapolis Colts-Minnesota Vikings tilt, while the Cincinnati Bengals-Los Angeles Chargers replaced the Colts-Jets Sunday nighter clash.

Washington Commanders rookie Johnny Newton did not appear pleased after being stuck with the bill on a night out.

Newton joined his teammates at an expensive restaurant for an end-of-season dinner on Monday night, and it appears they had a lavish time based on the photos and videos they posted to social media.

The Commanders dined on choice meats and drank some expensive liquor as they enjoyed their outing at the rookie’s expense, given he was left to foot a charge of nearly $10,000.

A video shared by Phidarian Mathis shows Newton seeing the total and saying, “F**k outta here.”

Fans Were Also Upset After Watching Johnny Newton Foot A Bill Of Nearly $10K

Fortunately for Johnny Newton, it appears some of the other rookies chipped in. However, social media still thought it was lame.

“Im never getting sized like this idgaf how much bred i got I ain’t paying for other grown man’s s**t,” one fan raged.

“Now he knows how his teammates felt when he jumped offsides against the Steelers,” another joked.

“This is the lamest thing that nfl vets do and I’ll stand on business about that,” someone claimed.

“Stuff that can cause issues in a locker room skins def a squad to be worried about imploding down the stretch Here,” someone suggested.

“nfl is so cruel!” a user exclaimed.

“This is so lame why make the poorest person pay a 10k bill,” one wondered.

It’s easy to feel bad for the rook. But he does have a pretty cheque coming in, having signed a four-year deal worth $9,757,990 this year.
