The Kansas City Chiefs have only been together for one full day of training camp, but people are starting to wonder who let Patrick Mahomes and the two-time defending Super Bowl champions acquire this many talented playmakers.

Before Chiefs fans could wrap their heads around Mahomes’ bomb to new deep threat Xavier Worthy that went viral on Sunday, a different new wide receiver made an even more impressive catch.

Watch Hollywood Brown’s one-handed catch

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown lived up to his name with a one-handed circus catch captured by the Chiefs on Instagram. The ball appeared to be beyond his reach, but he hauled in the stray pass from backup QB Carson Wentz, who had a tough start to his first training camp in Kansas City.

Although Worthy’s touchdown grab made more headlines, Brown’s showed an important skill that was missing from the offense. Mahomes’ wide receivers famously struggled with dropped passes last year, so Brown’s ability to make it stick with one hand is a welcome sight to Chiefs fans.

“feels weird having receivers that can catch,” a member of Chiefs Kingdom commented under the video on X, formerly Twitter.

New weapons for Patrick Mahomes

That’s not to say Xavier Worthy won’t be a valuable addition, too. The rookie’s blazing speed makes him the closest thing the Chiefs have had to Tyreek Hill since the 2023 Offensive Player of the Year left for Miami.

Worthy and Brown are joined by a wild card in former rugby player Louis Rees-Zammit as new weapons for Andy Reid‘s offense. Mecole Hardman and 2023 rookie sensation Rashee Rice return to the group from last year, but of course, none of them have as good of a connection with Mahomes as tight end Travis Kelce.

It may only be the second day of training camp, but with all the new options at No. 15’s disposal, the Chiefs are looking like frontrunners for a potential three-peat next February.
