The 2024-25 NBA season is less than a month away, and the all-time scoring leader, LeBron James, will make history by entering his 22nd season. The Lakers acquired LeBron’s son, Bronny James, in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft, making them the first father-son duo to play together in the league. Ahead of the upcoming season, LeBron and Bronny have started training with other Lakers.

After finishing the 2023-24 regular season with a 47-35 record, the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated in the 2024 NBA playoffs’ first round against the Denver Nuggets. With the 2024-25 regular season approaching, the Lakers will play an almost identical roster from last season. Apart from Bronny, JJ Redick, who replaced head coach Darwin Ham, will be another new face with the Lakers.

General manager Rob Pelinka joined the Lakers coach for a press conference on Wednesday to discuss the preparations for the 2024-25 season. Pelinka revealed a trash-talking incident between LeBron and Bronny James.

He said via Spectrum Sportsnet, “In our pickup game, I think it was yesterday or two days ago [Bronny] got switched onto LeBron. And LeBron took him baseline and up and under off the glass. The words exchanged afterward were probably more challenging than anyone else.”

Following Pelinka’s statement about the exchange of words between the father-son duo during the practice, the Lakers star forward took a hilarious jab at his son. LeBron shared the Lakers general manager’s quote on his Instagram story with a caption, “Great Defense. Better O.” While praising his son’s defense, LeBron appears to take a subtle dig by calling his offensive skills better.

Apart from that, Lakers head coach heaped praise on star center Anthony Davis. Redick said, “I think we have not only one of the best players in the world, but one of the most unique players in the world in Anthony Davis… His ballhandling, his skill level offensively, and certainly the fact that he’s one of the best defensive players in the world.”

The Los Angeles Lakers will face the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2024-25 season opener on October 22 at the Crypto.com Arena.

Former NFL star quarterback Brett Favre has taken a swipe at pop sensation Taylor Swift for political reasons ahead of the upcoming 2024 presidential elections.

The 11-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro is known to be a supporter of former President Donald Trump and has previously endorsed him.

He’s since taken a shot at Swift, who recently endorsed Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris following Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes informing everyone that he wouldn’t endorse a candidate.

“Good take by Mahomes,” he wrote in a tweet.

“I see a lot of celebs trying to influence their audience instead of letting the people think for themselves. If the best choice for them ain’t clear and they’re easily swayed by their fav pop artist, it’s not going to be a good thing.”
