The Dallas Cowboys will get a much-needed break this weekend following one of their worst-ever losses, and quarterback Dak Prescott is using his bye wisely.

Prescott, who became the NFL’s highest-paid player this year, has apparently gotten engaged.

Cowboys reporter Clarence Hill Jr. shared as much on Friday, noting that the quarterback has promised to wed his girlfriend, Sarah Jane Ramos, the mother of his daughter. Hill tweeted a photo Dak shared to his Instagram story showing the couple sharing the moment with their baby girl.

Dak Prescott Is Having A Huge 2024

Dak and Sarah welcomed little Margaret Jane Rose Prescott to the world this February, and she’s blossoming nicely.

“I feel different,” the signal-caller told reporters while discussing fatherhood in March (per USA Today). “When you wake up in the morning and you see that baby, you understand responsibilities. And everything that I’ve always wanted for myself, but you want that for somebody else even more. Yeah, it’s special.”

“MJ Rose, Being your parents is the biggest blessing life has to offer and we are so fortunate that you are ours! Welcome into this world, baby girl, you will always be loved and protected! We are so IN LOVE with you ♥️Love, Mom & Dad,” Sarah wrote in an IG post.

According to People’s Rebecca Aizin, Prescott and Ramos went public with their relationship last September. It’s unclear when they actually began dating.

This year has been a big one for Prescott, who became a father, got himself a four-year, $240 million extension with the Cowboys, and is now engaged.

While he’s having a great year on a personal front, his team has been struggling. Dallas is 3-3 ahead of their NFC showdown against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8.

Dak Prescott Drops A Truth Bomb About HC Mike McCarthy After Embarrassing Blowout Loss To The Detroit Lions

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys needed this bye week to regroup as a unit.

The team came into the 2024 season with high expectations and sputtered out of the gate.

The Dallas Cowboys were walloped at home Sunday, blown out 47-9 by the Detroit Lions. This was the Cowboys’ fourth straight loss at home, dating back to the last postseason.

Detroit quarterback Jared Goff completed 18 of 25 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns.

Prescott went 17 for 33 for 178 yards and two interceptions. The offense also lost three fumbles and only averaged four yards per play.

Following the game, there were questions about whether the team should make a coaching change.

After the loss, quarterback Dak Prescott shut that down with his passionate speech about his coach.

According to Jon Machota of The Athletic:

Dak Prescott on his belief in Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy:

“The man he is. The preparation that he puts into this. The leader. I’ll go to war for that guy, with that guy, every single day. And I’m not the only one in that locker room.

I feel like everybody feels that. If you heard what he said after that game (last night), not something that I care to let you guys in on honestly, but strong message. Strong message. In a loss, to be able to feel that way and show those emotions and respond, I’ll follow him.

I’ll follow him. I know he said it to you guys, he said it in there, he’s looking in the mirror, as we all should. Thankful for him as my coach. Period.”

After boasting the league’s top-scoring offense during the 2023 season with an average of 29.9 points per game, Dallas is averaging just 21 points per game, which explains their 3-3 record.

Dak Prescott Is Not Playing Up To His New Contract

Prescott and the Cowboys agreed to a four-year, $240 million contract extension ahead of Week 1 of the 2024 season.

He is not living up to it.

Dak Prescott has completed 63.4 percent of his throws for 1,602 yards to begin the season and has thrown eight touchdown passes compared to six interceptions.

He has also fumbled the ball four times in six starts after recording four fumbles during his entire 2023 season.
