Rice took a nasty blow to the knee by Patrick Mahomes on a botched block that forced him out of the game in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

It took some time for the team to determine the severity of his injury, but it eventually was decided that Rice would need surgery to repair it.

Rice officially had surgery on his LCL and had some repairs done to his hamstring as well.

The severity of this surgery indicated that Rice would “likely” be out for the season.

While it is expected that Rice won’t play another down for the Chiefs this season, the star wide receiver has been spotted rehabbing his injury.

Fellow wide receiver Marquise Brown, who is also out for the season with the injury, posted a picture of Rice rehabbing his knee in a pool.

“Damn how you shake back that quick gang,” he captioned the post.

Chiefs fans went wild for this update, and shared their hopes for a potential return for Rice this season.

“If he’s ready by the Super Bowl it would be a miracle,” one fan said.

“If Rashee returns before the Super Bowl, then the Chiefs are most likely going to three-peat,” another fan said.

“My goat coming back for a ring,” a third fan said.
