In a recording from the Black Millionaires podcast that has gone viral online, actress Gabrielle Union stated that she and her husband, retired NBA player Dwyane Wade, divided their finances equally.
The actress, 50, continued, “But in the other households that each of us have to support, there’s always this like, gorilla on your back, that’s like, ‘You better work, b—, you better work. Oh, you’re going to sleep in?’ You know, somebody might not eat.”
She added, “It’s hard. It’s hard to let that go. So I’m working on that.”
Gabrielle Union says her and Dwade split their bills 50/50 and she still has anxiety about being financially secure due to all of her responsibilities which forces her to be a workaholic! “You better work b*tch, oh you want to sleep in.”

It was a shocking revelation for many online who constantly go back and forth about splitting bills. The idea that she and her husband Dwyane Wade share expenses when the former NBA star has a net worth of more than $150 million while hers is significantly less sent the internet into a frenzy.
After backlash from her comments, Union took to an Instagram comment and explained they do what’s best for them because of other obligations they also have.
Meanwhile, Union is starring in a new movie for Netflix. In The Perfect Find Union’s character is Jenna Jones–a 40-year-old woman balancing her career, her ticking biological clock, and her bank account. She risks it all for an intense, secret romance with the one person who could destroy her comeback.
NBA champion Dwyane Wade is back for season 2 as the host of the Intense, high-energy, high-stakes competition show The Cube. The TBS game show will feature some of our favorite celebrities competing to win money for their charities.
