Though she seems to have moved on from her early-2000s relationship with Ray J, Kim Kardashian still brings up her ex every so often. Namely, she cried on camera for her reality series while discussing the possibility of a second intimate tape featuring her and Ray J.

Despite Kanye, to whom Kim was still married at the time, swooping in and seeming to save the day, it turns out that the Kardashians’ story isn’t what it seemed. At least, according to Ray J.

The somewhat disgraced singer now says that the Kardashian family orchestrated the drama over the tape with Kim and that a second tape never even existed. Instead, Ray J claims, the family seems to have been trying to destroy him — and he says it’s all Kris Jenner’s fault.

Ray J Says He Never Threatened To Release A Tape

Though Ray J didn’t deny that the original tape with Kim existed, he unequivocally stated that he never threatened to release anything, let alone a second tape.

In fact, Us Magazinequotes Ray J as saying “I’ve never leaked anything… It has never been a leak.”

He also stated that he never had a copy of any tape (he suggests there were multiple but doesn’t specify whether he was featured in them), and that Kim literally had “all the tapes in a Nike shoe box under her bed.”

 

Ray J did admit that he once “pitched the idea to her, just playing around a little bit,” and then Kim talked to her mom, and it was then out of his control.

The family has used the scandal in a lot of their reality TV promos, seemingly relying on the drama long after anything was actually happening with any tapes or with Ray J himself.

Kim Has Other Content That Features Him, According To Ray J

He maintains that there’s not another full tape out there, but Ray J did seem to admit there was more Kim-Ray content out there somewhere. He’s quoted as saying, “it was a lot of pictures, a lot of little mini videos and a lot of proof we’ve been talking over the years.”

He also alleged that Kim was emailing him in 2008, so there’s proof the two were still chatting at that time, which Ray J seems to hope will redeem him after all the drama that alleged he was threatening Kim.

 

Complicating the situation further, there was also that time Kim denied a second tape existing, too — after footage showed her crying about the tape’s existence to Kanye, and him flying out somewhere to, ostensibly, retrieve the laptop containing the offensive material from Ray J himself.

It’s unclear, at this point, what was for the reality TV series and what actually happened, or how involved or in-the-know Kanye was at the time.

Ray J Blames Kris Jenner For Orchestrating Everything

Recently, Ye West took to social media to rant about his former mother-in-law ‘ruining’ her own daughters. Ye claimed he was protecting his daughters from Kris, preventing them from having to “do Playboy.”

After Ye spoke his piece, Ray J commented, too, posting on a ShadeRoom expose, in which it’s noted Kris Jenner asked Kanye to stop talking about her, “What about my mom Kris? You telling people false stories about me, making the black man look horrible, for your gain.”

In a May 2022 interview, Ray J pointed out, “I’ve sat in the shadows for over 14 years allowing the Kardashians to use my name, to abuse my name, make billions of dollars over a decade-and-a-half talking about a topic I’ve never really spoken about.”

Now, it seems Ray J is done keeping quiet about how the Kardashian-Jenner family has apparently wronged him. Yet he’s dealing with his own drama in the media after his wife filed for divorce for the third time.

Princess Love And Ray J Have Their Own Drama Brewing

Kardashian drama isn’t the only reason Ray J has been in the headlines. His separation from wife Princess Love made waves, especially as the seemingly happy couple celebrated their five-year anniversary immediately before the divorce proceedings.

 

Princess Love has accused Ray J of abandoning her and their daughter in Las Vegas. She stated that he had gone out to spend time with adult performers while she and their daughter were left in their hotel. The couple was reported to have other issues, too, including some they publicly discussed during a period of reconciliation.

Ray J even publicly apologized to his then-wife during an interview, but the two still wound up separating after multiple attempts at fixing their marriage.
