He required a lot of help from the Giants, from Emet, and also from Joy Boy. This proves that he needs another power-up, and it will probably come in the form of another transformation that will be his sixth gear.

One Piece Theory Explains What Luffy Would Look Like During Gear 6

A popular One Piece theory has been making rounds on the internet that states that Luffy’s Gear 6 will have themes of red and gold because his power-up will be connected to the Mother Flame. According to the theory, Eiichiro Oda has never shied away from establishing the connection between Luffy and the Hindu God, Hanuman.

Be it his appetite or his most powerful move (Bajrang Gun), Luffy has paralleled the deity in many ways. The theory states that just like Hanuman tried to eat the Sun, Luffy will eat the Mother Flame, which, according to the narrative, is the only mysterious power that the Five Elders were scared of. According to the theory, eating the Mother Flame would give him an afro, which will be an iconic callback.

This Gear 6 transformation will probably be called the Hanuman Mode, which will form a direct parallel with Luffy’s strongest attack, the Bajrang Gun, and his strongest transformation.
