A viral social media post claiming former United States President Donald Trump was booed during Saturday’s game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide has been debunked by fans.

Trump, who is battling to return to office this year, with elections set for November, was in attendance as the Tide won a thriller at their Bryant-Denny Stadium.

A video was initially shared by a TikTok user claiming the ex-POTUS was being booed while at the game, prompting someone else to post it to X/Twitter along with a crude caption.

“Holy f**k‼ The loathsome piece of s**t was booed at the Georgia vs Alabama football game. Hate, racism, and bigotry is not the flex it once was in the deep South,” they wrote.

Social Media Wasted No Time Calling Out Misleading Post About Donald Trump

The user was quickly called out in the comments, with folks noting that the boos were the result of a penalty that went uncalled.

“What kind of person would post this knowing it’s an absolute lie?” one asked.

“The crowd is booing a penalty that wasn’t called,” someone added, showing a video of Trump being cheered after coming up on the jumbotron. “Here’s the real footage.”

“The video isn’t fake. The crowd is booing a penalty that wasn’t called. So the question is, are you intentionally lying or are you an idiot beta that knows nothing about football?” another asked.

X’s Community Notes also came through with some pushback.

“The audio has been manipulated on this video. Here is the exact same video without the audio being manipulated,” the note read, pointing to the clip shown below:

Meanwhile, Alabama has moved to No. 1 in the AP rankings after going into the game at No. 4. The Bulldogs, on the other hand, have dropped from first to fifth.
