Dwyane Wade gifted his daughter, Kaavia James, a Barbie-themed present for her sixth birthday on Thursday. The celebration kicked off with a special play date featuring real-life Barbies. On Saturday, the proud father shared a video of his daughter giving a glimpse of the birthday festivities.
Wade arranged for someone dressed as Barbie to start her birthday morning in a pink-themed room designed specifically to honor her love for the iconic doll. Kaavia also showed off the outdoor area beyond the room.
The party featured an array of Barbie-themed outdoor attractions, including pink chairs and a dance floor.

In a January interview with TODAY.com, Wade spoke about the joy he experiences bonding with his daughter.
“We dance. We sing. We play Barbie all the time. We do all the princess things. I actually let her put makeup on me, whatever she wants to do. I’m that dad,” he said.
This week, Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union, had the opportunity to display this love as they celebrated their daughter’s birthday.

In a joint Instagram post, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union expressed their love for Kaavia with a heartfelt birthday message.
“Miss Kaavia James Union Wade is 6 today!!! You are a miracle who has blessed everyone with your kindness, compassion, elite humor, intelligence and your loving soul,” the couple said. “You are a gift to your family, blood and chosen, and so many people across the world.”
“We love you beyond measure and we celebrate your cute little self daily!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUEEN KAAVIA!!!”
The Instagram post includes photos of Kaavia growing up and moments with her parents.
Now six, Kaavia is Wade’s youngest child and has a popular Instagram account run by her parents, which has nearly two million followers. She was born in November 2018 via a surrogate.
The Wade family is blended. Dwyane gained custody of Zaya and Zaire after his divorce from their mother, Siohvaughn Funches-Wade. He is also the father of Xavier, whom he shares with Aja Metoyer and Kaavia, his child with Gabrielle Union. Aside from parenting, he serves as the legal guardian of nephew Dahveon Morris.
