Patrick Mahomes asks ‘why is he so good at that?’ as Aaron Rodgers completes feat Chiefs star never has

Mahomes wasn’t the only sports superstar to comment on Rodgers’ stunning achievement

PATRICK Mahomes still can’t believe how Aaron Rodgers has a knack for achieving a rare feat that even the three-time Super Bowl MVP has failed to do in his career.

The Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback, 28, reacted to an impressive play made by Rodgers during the New York Jets’ 23-20 Monday Night Football loss to the Buffalo Bills.

The Jets were down 20-10 and had one last play to end the first half when Rodgers heaved a successful 52-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass to wide receiver Allen Lazard.

The strike cut the halftime deficit to 20-17 as social media buzzed over Rodgers’ stunning throw.

Mahomes was among those who commented on the pass on X.

“Why is Aaron so good at that [laughing emojis],” he wrote on Monday night.

Mahomes has never completed a Hail Mary touchdown pass in his six-plus seasons in the NFL.

NBA superstar LeBron James replied to Mahomes and seemed to agree with him.

“Right!! It’s ridiculous!” the four-time NBA champion commented.

Mahomes and LeBron referred to Rodgers’ past and present history of completing miraculous Hail Mary passes.

During his tenure with the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers achieved three Hail Marys for touchdowns.

Two of the Hail Mary touchdowns came in the playoffs, including one that forced overtime against the Arizona Cardinals in 2015.

Rodgers’ touchdown pass on Monday came with confusion, however, as one ref called it incomplete and another called it a touchdown.

The ball popped out of Lazard’s hand after he caught it, but the officials talked it over and ruled it a touchdown.

The call was right as Lazard had possession in the end zone before the ball was ripped out by Bills players.

The Jets still went on to lose their third straight game.

Rodgers threw a game-sealing interception for the second consecutive game.

He ended with 294 passing yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

It was the Jets’ first game under interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich.

The franchise fired Robert Saleh after last week’s 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London.

The Jets will go on the road to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7 on Sunday Night Football.
