The two-time WNBA champion, A’ja Wilson, is the frontrunner for the 2024 WNBA MVP award with her incredible statistics in the season. Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces are in the pursuit of defending their title for the second straight time, eyeing a championship three-peat. The 28-year-old center has been phenomenal for the Aces this season, recording a league-high 10.2 win shares.

A’ja Wilson, the first overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft, is leading the league in scoring, blocking, and field goals this season. The 2023 WNBA Finals MVP is averaging her career-high 27.9 points and leading the MVP race this season. Here is the comparison of A’ja Wilson’s 2024 WNBA season with her previous two MVP seasons in 2020 and 2022 and preceding MVPs.

A’ja Wilson’s 2024 WNBA Vs. 2020 and 2022

The Las Vegas Aces center’s career-high scoring indicates her offensive dominance this season. The three-time WNBA block leader again stands tall this season, leading the league for the fourth straight year. Apart from scoring and blocking, Wilson is leading the WNBA in rebounds and steals this season.

While the Aces star is close to ending the season with her career-high averages in multiple categories, Wilson is averaging more assists per game than her previous two MVP seasons. The 28-year-old has outnumbered her 2020 and 2022 seasons in most statistical aspects, if not all.

A’ja Wilson’s 2024 WNBA Vs. 2020 and 2022: Average stats

A’ja Wilson’s 2024 WNBA Vs. Previous MVPs

With her 929 points in 34 games this season, Wilson broke two-time WNBA champion Jewell Loyd’s single-season scoring record. However, the Seattle Storm guard was not named the 2023 MVP, so A’ja is leading the previous MVPs in scoring. Followed by four-time NBA champion Maya Moore’s 812 points in 2014 and three-time MVP Lauren Jackson’s 739 points in 2007.

A’ja Wilson has registered 406 rebounds this season, leading the previous WNBA rebound leaders. She is averaging 11.9 rebounds per game in 2024, followed by 1999 MVP Yolanda Griffith with 11.3 rebounds and New York Liberty star Jonquel Jones’ 11.2 rpg in the 2021 season.

With her 91 blocks this season, Wilson is averaging 2.68 blocks per game. After eight-time WNBA All-Star Lisa Leslie’s 2.88 blocks per game in 2004, Wilson is currently leading all the previous MVPs. Las Vegas Star Center has a chance to equalize Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, and Lauren Jackson as the leading WNBA MVP winners, each with three honors.

How Bad Is A’ja Wilson’s Injury?

The two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year tweaked her ankle against the Connecticut Sun on September 6 and missed the next game against the New York Liberty on Sunday. The Aces felt the absence of their star player, losing 75-71 in the rematch of last year’s WNBA Finals.

The game against the Liberty is the first Wilson missed all season. Since 2020, Wilson has missed her first regular-season game, playing and starting in all 22 games in 2020, 32 in 2021, 36 in 2022, and 40 in 2023.

The Aces would want their star center healthy to successfully defend their WNBA title for the third time.

Shannon Sharpe Releases Statement After Raunchy Video Of Him & Female Engaging In Loud Intercourse Leaks Online

Shannon Sharpe has some explaining to do, as his private life has leaked on the internet for all to see (or hear).

Earlier today, an explicit video of the former NFL tight end leaked online. Sharpe has since issued a statement claiming that his Instagram account had been hacked. “Beware my @shannonsharpe84 Instagram was hacked this morning, my team and I are working vigorously to figure this out,” the message on his IG story read.

The statement was in response to a video that had surfaced online of what sounds like Sharpe engaging in intercourse with a female. The video is over a minute long, and while it doesn’t include any nudity, it does feature a lot of moaning and other inappropriate noises.

As such, we’re not going to post it on this page, but you can watch it here if it’s something you’d like to check out.

Shannon Sharpe Could Find Himself In Hot Water With ESPN After This

After a stint at FoxSports working alongside Skip Bayless on “Undisputed,” Sharpe moved ship and can now be seen on ESPN’s “First Take” with his buddy Stephen A. Smith. Whether or not this leak causes ESPN to take action against Sharpe remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve taken that sort of route with their on-air talent.

Back in 2021, Pierce was fired from the Worldwide Leader in Sports after a video surfaced of him partying with a bunch of female dancers on his Instagram Live. The former Boston Celtics superstar was very outspoken about his firing afterward, as the incident took place on his own time.

It’ll be interesting to see how ESPN chooses to deal with Shannon Sharpe, and what Pierce has to say about that decision — whatever it may be.
