Vince Carter Reflects on Surpassing Michael Jordan’s Longevity Record in the NBA

Throughout his NBA career, Vince Carter may not have surpassed many of Michael Jordan’s iconic records, but he did break one significant milestone, playing more seasons (22 seasons) than Jordan in the league. Carter reflected on this achievement during the press conference for his 2024 Hall of Fame induction, expressing pride in the longevity of his career.

When I got to year 15, for some reason I said, ‘I wanna play 15 seasons. Some of the greats, like Michael Jordan, played 14 odd years, Bird somewhere in there. If I played 15 years, I accomplished something,” Carter said.

Jordan, the popular face in the GOAT debate, played 15 seasons between 1984 and 2003, with 13 seasons for the Chicago Bulls and two more for the Washington Wizards. On the other hand, Carter played for eight teams throughout his record-breaking 22-year career.
