Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson is being lauded after purchasing stuff he could have very easily gotten for free.

Wilson, who has finally gotten some action under center for the AFC North franchise following an injury spell, is understood to have bought his own gear from the team’s shop.

“RUSS BEING RUSS: #Steelers QB Russell Wilson went to the team’s Pro Shop and bought his own gear—even though he could’ve gotten it for free,” MLFootball posted on Friday, citing teammate Cam Heyward.

The unlikely gesture has earned Russ plenty of praise from fans online.

You can check out some of the best reactions below:

“Russell Wilson is the best kind of weird,” a fan commented.

“he got unlimiteddddd money,” another pointed out.

“Classic Russ always keeping it humble and real,” said a third.

“Broncos paying him 39 million over the next couple of years I think buying anything isn’t a problem for Mr Wilson,” a fourth noted.

“I like the message… doesn’t want anything given to him,” said another.

Russell Wilson Has Quickly Endeared Himself To Pittsburgh

The veteran QB has quickly become a fan favorite following his trade from the Denver Broncos and has also received praise for his involvement in the Pittsburgh community as he has maintained visibility off the field, notably visiting a high school football player who collapsed during a game.

Russell Wilson led Pittsburgh to an impressive win over the New York Jets on his debut for the team, cementing his status as the starter despite Justin Fields’ performing extremely well to start the season and helping the team to a 4-2 record in his six appearances.

Nick Bosa may have landed himself in hot water with the NFL following his actions after the San Francisco 49ers beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.

The Niners enjoyed a 30-24 win over Dallas in the ‘SNF’ fixture. Quarterback Brock Purdy had a stellar game, completing 18 of 26 passing attempts for 260 yards and a touchdown while showing some surprising athleticism as a scrambler.

Bosa also had an impressive outing as he made life pretty difficult for the Cowboys offensive line, also making three tackles, a sack, and two QB hits.

After the game, he popped up behind Purdy while the QB was being interviewed and pointed to his “Make America Great Again” hat before running toward the locker room.
