Angel Reese, the Chicago Sky’s standout player, had an outstanding college career that increased her fame among fans prior to the 2024 WNBA draft.

The 22-year-old, who recently revealed her dream boyfriend, has gained a significant fan base since her debut game in the league. Additionally, her popularity increased after she was chosen as the cover model for a prestigious sports magazine.

Reese, who led LSU to its first national championship, was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Power List, which honors the top 50 athletes in all sports. However, the social media account Bricks Center, the Worldwide Leader in Sports failure, did not appreciate Reese’s success.

They recently wrote, “Imagine putting Clint Cepala on the cover of Sports Illustrated instead of Steph Curry,” suggesting that Reese is replacing a more talented player on the cover. Additionally, basketball fans have become more creative with their jokes about the Sky star in Bricks Center’s post on X (formerly Twitter) comment section.

One fan said, “Bro that’s disrespectful to Clint capala lol.”

Meanwhile, another fan said, “Clint Capella has a way better fg%”

A fan criticized Reese by comparing her to an NBA player: “You’re giving her so much credit, she’s more like Andre Drummond.”

Another fan said, “How can you be an influential figure when you’re not a top even a top 10 player in your respective sport?”

Reese Dubbed Herself ‘MS.COVERGIRL’ Following Her Feature on the Cover

Reese, nicknamed “Bayou-Barbie” and “Chi-Barbie,” showcased stellar court skills after her debut in the WNBA. The 22-year-old stunned basketball fans with her rebounding abilities, breaking the WNBA single-season rebounding record on September 1, 2024.

After being featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Power List, Reese was excited and proudly surprisingly showcased her success. The Sky’s standout player posted a photo of her magazine covers on her Instagram story and told her fans to call her the Cover Girl.

“The only issues I have, call me Ms. Covergirl. I’m missing one but more to come.” Reese wrote in her Instagram story.

Reese gained popularity on the internet, but she had bad luck on the court when she suffered a hairline fracture in her wrist during the Sky’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks on September 6. Despite this, she ended the year with an average of 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game.
