After starting his NBA journey with the Houston Rockets and spending 12 seasons in the league, Patrick Beverley made a bold move this year, joining Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel. Recently, Beverley revealed that his performance in the Israel League had caught the attention of multiple Euroleague teams. And interestingly, some NBA teams have reached out to discuss a possible return to the league.

The former NBA star brought up the discussion on a recent episode of his “Pat Bev Podcast.” He shared his mixed feelings about the potential NBA return.

“Some NBA teams called. They told me I can’t say who. I’ve been thinking a lot. What’s the next move? What to do, what to not do. Do I go back to the NBA? If I go back to the NBA, do I turn my back on my teammates?” Beverly said.

Beverley made it clear that choosing Hapoel Tel Aviv wasn’t a decision he made lightly. The Israel League team offered him a two-year deal worth $4 million, which he said met all his demands and made the opportunity hard to turn down. But as NBA interest continues, he’s left with some tough decisions.

“That’s not my style. So I have some decisions to make,” he added.

Playing in the Israel League can be a tough experience, something former NBA player Jonathan Motley has felt recently. This week, Motley, who was playing alongside Patrick Beverley at Hapoel Tel Aviv, made the difficult decision to leave the team. Beverley opened up about his teammate’s departure on his podcast, expressing the impact on both the team and himself.

“This week has been kind tough for us because our big man, Jonathan Motley, all of a sudden hit us with the pump fake. Said he doesn’t feel safe no more. Leaves the team. Our leading scorer, best big man in EuroCup,” Beverly said.

Motley and Beverley go way back to their days together with the Clippers, which makes Motley’s departure even more significant for Beverley. As the team’s leading scorer, averaging 17.5 points per game, Motley played a key role in their success, and his absence has left the team shorthanded.
