Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence answers questions...

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in a pickle. They have talented players but they have not performed as thought and now they are in 0-3 hole early in the season. Trevor Lawrence has been honest about the situation and all this has led to comparisons to the Super Bowl champion quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The Jaguars got manhandled by the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football by a score of 47 to 10 and they never had a chance. Their struggles have been notorious since the start of the season even after many believed they had a team that would contend in the AFC. The team’s quarterback has raised his voice on the matter.

“I’ve got to play really well for us to win… I don’t feel like I’ve done that consistently enough,” he confessed after the blowout loss. “That’s the NFL. The quarterback has to play well every week in order to give us a shot.” These words have created a buzz around the league that indicates that he seems at times like Patrick Mahomes.

The comparison to the Super Bowl winning quarterback

While it is true that the Kansas City Chiefs have started the season with the exact opposite record at 3-0, many have seen Patrick Mahomes struggle at times on the field as well as Trevor Lawrence and, the fact that the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback was holding accountability on the situation, started all the talk.

Lawrence signed a contract extension for $275 million during the offseason, he knows that all pressure is on him to perform and shine. Mahomes, who recently also landed a lucrative deal, but of course has plenty of rings to back that up, as honest as well after his team beat the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night.

“I feel like I haven’t played very well… I’m missing opportunities whenever they’re out there,” Mahomes said. All this is similar to what Lawrence said, the only difference is that he has not won it all try and keep that pressure away. The Jaguars need to change their way of doing things fast, because despite “missing opportunities”, Mahomes has delivered wins and Lawrence has not.

Former NFL star quarterback Brett Favre has taken a swipe at pop sensation Taylor Swift for political reasons ahead of the upcoming 2024 presidential elections.

The 11-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro is known to be a supporter of former President Donald Trump and has previously endorsed him.

He’s since taken a shot at Swift, who recently endorsed Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris following Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes informing everyone that he wouldn’t endorse a candidate.

“Good take by Mahomes,” he wrote in a tweet.

“I see a lot of celebs trying to influence their audience instead of letting the people think for themselves. If the best choice for them ain’t clear and they’re easily swayed by their fav pop artist, it’s not going to be a good thing.”
