The WNBA playoffs are in the news for a controversial incident involving Connecticut Sun player DiJonai Carrington and Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark. A new video shows Carrington possibly poking Clark in the eye during their playoff game, upsetting many fans and starting discussions about player safety and the referees’ decisions.

This event happened just 90 seconds into the game when Carrington hit Clark’s eye, which left her with a noticeable black eye by halftime. Many fans were disappointed when the referees didn’t call a foul, leading to criticism of their officiating.

Recently, a slow-motion clip of the Carrington eye poke incident on X (formerly Twitter) was shared, and fans of the Fever and Caitlin Clark reacted strongly, expressing their anger and frustration toward Dijonai Carrington. One person said, “Definitely intentional. She should be removed.”

Another commented, “It’s intentional. How much validation does one need.”

Another person lent full support to Caitlin Clark and didn’t hold back their feelings at all, criticizing Dijonai Carrington, saying, “Look at her hand. She is bending her fingers down to jab her in the eyes. She knew exactly what she was doing. The WNBA needs to stop this. Carrington should not be allowed to play in the next few games and fined along with apologizing to Clark.”

One person commented, “That’s not a foul that’s assault. She literally tried blinding the star player of the entire WNBA.”

Her past controversies have made the situation even more intense. So far, she has not publicly commented on the incident, leaving fans to wonder about her intentions.

Caitlin Clark’s Playoff Struggles And Controversy Highlight Ongoing Issues In The WNBA

Caitlin Clark’s much-anticipated playoff debut didn’t go well as the Indiana Fever lost to the Connecticut Sun, 93-69. Even though Clark brushed off the eye injury, she struggled in the game, scoring only 11 points, much less than her usual average.

She shot 4-of-17 from the field and 2-of-13 from three-point range. After a short break to regroup, she said in a post-game interview, “Obviously, she got me pretty good in the eye.” She also mentioned, “I got good shots. They didn’t go down. It’s a tough time for that to happen,” downplaying how the injury affected her play.

This controversy has taken attention away from the WNBA’s record-breaking season, with increased attendance and interest driven by players like Caitlin Clark. However, it has also highlighted the league’s ongoing issues with officiating and player safety.

The Fever and Sun are getting ready to play Game 2 of their playoff series, and everyone will be paying close attention to Clark and Carrington. Fans are eager to see how this incident affects the game and how the league will respond to the raised concerns. The WNBA’s actions will be important for keeping the trust and support of its growing fanbase.

PHOTOS: The Entire Internet Is Freaking Out After Learning That Patrick Mahomes’ College Football Doppelganger, Dylan Raiola, Has A Younger Brother Who Looks Exactly Like A Certain Someone

Everyone had the same observation and resulting joke after finding out Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola has a younger brother.

Said sibling is in the news this week, having committed to the Cornhuskers himself, and is expected to be part of the program’s 2026 recruitment class.

Dayton Railoa announced his commitment on Sunday night. He replaced his older brother as the starting QB at Georgia’s Buford High School following his departure for college and has led them to four wins from their first five outings.

Dayton’s commitment makes him the newest Raiola to be associated with the Huskers.

The boys’ father, Dominic Raiola, played for the school from 1997-2000 before going on to spend 14 years with the Detroit Lions in the NFL.

Their uncle, Donovan Raiola, is the current offensive line coach at Nebraska.

Perhaps the most fascinating thing about this is Dayton’s uncanny resemblance to Jackson Mahomes. The observation comes amid widespread talk of Dylan’s similar appearance to Patrick Mahomes, which he’s leaned into by dressing and styling his hair like the Kansas City Chiefs QB.

Dylan Raiola’s Younger Brother Sparks The Jokes Online

Social media had some jokes after fans realized how much Dayton and Jackson look alike.

We DONT need another Jackson Mahomes 😭,” someone wrote.

Sucks to be the one like Jackson Mahomes,” another said.

What kinda sick simulation are we in,” said a third.

Does he also do things that are legally and morally wrong and the family sweeps under the rug?” a fourth asked.

Well, life can be crazy like that…

But, the way fans see it, it’s okay to look like Jackson Mahomes as long as you don’t act like Jackson Mahomes.

Dylan Raiola’s little brother is already way ahead in that regard, given that he’s a quarterback.

VIDEO: Female 49ers Fan Gets Punched In The Face By Male Rams Fan As Ugly Fight Breaks Out At SoFi Stadium

When the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers play each other, you can be assured that much of the action will also be in the stands with the opposing fan bases.

Some of that action inside SoFi Stadium included a fight involving a Rams fan wearing a Cooper Kup jersey who was approached by a 49ers fan who pointed to his cheek and told the guy to hit him.

He got exactly what he called for, which was a punch to the mouth.

He did not fight back, but his feisty girlfriend or wife certainly wasn’t going to let that punch go without retaliation.

Like an angry Chihuahua, she continued to pursue the man and throw wild punches before the guy eventually decked her in the face, which sent her to the ground.

Finally, the 49ers fan wearing the George Kittle jersey that he initially punched finally came in to fight, but the Rams fan and a friend who came in to help gave him several punches to the face.

Somebody finally grabbed the angry young lady, but her man ended up getting dropped to his knees with several punches by another guy.

That’s when the wife or girlfriend came for some more action as she chased the guy off.

It was an overall bad day for the Niners fans as they had to watch the team blow their double-digit lead and lose.

Rams Fight Back to Upset 49ers

San Francisco let a 14-point lead slip and was upset by the Los Angeles Rams 27-24 at SoFi Stadium.

The Rams produced a stirring fourth-quarter rally, scoring 13 points to hand the 49ers their second loss of the season with a 37-yard field goal from Joshua Karty with two seconds left clinching the victory.

That gave the Rams their first win of the season and dropped the 49ers to 1-2 on the season.
