Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes‘ friendship has been put under the microscope as the Kansas City Chiefs season approaches, and the latest wrinkle has reached a more personal subject: Brittany and Patrick Mahomes’ children.
The latest updates from Brittany’s Instagram story highlighted the inescapable influence Taylor Swift is having on her children, Sterling and Bronze.
Are Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes still friends?
There has been an undercurrent of tension in the relationship between Swift and Mahomes from the first time Taylor showed up to watch Travis Kelce play for the Chiefs last season. They formed a fast friendship, leading some to accuse Mahomes of using Swift to boost her own popularity.
Mahomes also faced ire for modeling for one of Taylor’s arch enemies, and for bringing her around problematic members of Patrick Mahomes’ family such as his little brother Jackson and his father, Pat Sr. Whether true or not, these claims did not bother the NFL’s hottest WAGs as they continued to grow closer and cross into each other’s social circles.
Even when Brittany Mahomes went public with her support for Donald Trump, against whom Swift has campaigned before, it did not stop them from spending a weekend at Swift’s swanky Rhode Island mansion for Blake Lively’s birthday party. Photos from Backgrid showed that Sterling and Bronze tagged along and got to spend quality time with “Auntie Taylor.”
Taylor Swift’s influence on Chiefs Kingdom
Just a few days later, Brittany’s Instagram story suggests that whatever influence Taylor had on the kids, they haven’t been able to “Shake It Off.” Sterling, 3, and Bronze, 1, belted out a duet of what sounded like a Sunday school tune. Sterling Skye in particular treated the Mahomes mansion like a stage on the Taylor Swift Eras Tour, performing the song loud and proud like her Aunt Taylor.
“The cutest voice,” Brittany wrote on a her Instagram story the following day, complete with several laughing emojis. “I could not get over this yesterday and them screaming this song all day.”
