The Kansas City Chiefs have signed a new tight end to provide competition for Travis Kelce amid the Pro Bowler’s struggles to start the 2024 NFL season.

While the Super Bowl champs have gotten off to a strong start and are going into Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints with a 4-0 record, Kelce hasn’t quite given them what they’re used to.

The star TE, who turned 35 today, was a shadow of himself over the first three games and cut an unhappy figure, which led to calls for him to be benched. Of course, Andy Reid persisted with him, and he showed glimpses of his old self against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4, registering seven catches for 89 yards.

Andy Reid Keen On Additional Depth At TE Amid Uncertainty Over Travis Kelce

It appears that Reid wants some more depth at TE given the worries over his star man. While they have Noah Gray, who has performed well this term, the Chiefs have also signed Jody Fortson to their active roster, announcing as much on Friday.

Fortson returns to the Chiefs after spending the offseason with the Miami Dolphins. He was in KC from 2019-2023 but hasn’t played a regular-season game since 2022.

The 28-year-old joined the Dolphins in March; they released him in August.

Fortson has registered 155 yards and four touchdowns off 14 receptions in 19 career games. As to whether he makes an impact for the Chiefs this season remains to be seen.

Taylor Swift may not have been in SoFi Stadium to watch the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Chargers, but she certainly laid the groundwork for him to have a great game on that day.

Swift reportedly touched down in Kansas City to comfort her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, after his poor performance that saw cameras catch him on the sidelines looking sad.

Taylor Swift reportedly flew to Travis Kelce’s side after the team’s battle with the Falcons in Week 3.

According to the Daily Mail, Swift made an unexpected trip to Kelce’s Kansas City mansion following a game in which he had just four catches for 30 yards, but the team did win.

Swift made the trip from New York to Kansas City on Monday morning.

Kelce has been under intense scrutiny for his play this season, and it seems like the unexpected visit worked.

Last weekend against the Los Angeles Chargers, the star tight end had seven catches for 89 yards while breaking a franchise record for most receptions, previously held by Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez.

Taylor Swift Missing From Chiefs Games Over Fresh Security Fears

Taylor Swift hasn’t been at boyfriend Travis Kelce’s football games for two weeks out of “fresh security fears.”

RadarOnline.com dismissed viral rumors that the couple were having relationship problems and reported Swift has been keeping her distance from NFL stadiums out of concern for her safety.

Since last year, all eyes have been on Taylor Swift as she showed up at Arrowhead Stadium and many other NFL venues since being in a relationship with Kelce.

However, the Karma singer missed back-to-back games in Atlanta and Los Angeles despite being on break from touring.

A source told PageSix: “If she is going to a place that isn’t Arrowhead, there are security concerns.

“She has worked with Arrowhead so many times, they feel at ease and comfortable.

“Going to all kinds of different stadiums, you need to send a team in advance.”
