Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has implemented additional measures after his home and that of his teammate Travis Kelce were burglarized.

According to reports, Mahomes’ Kansas City area residence was broken into shortly after midnight on October 6. There were no signs of forced entry, and it wasn’t immediately clear whether anything was stolen.

This happened within a day of Kelce’s home being burglarized and the star tight end losing a reported $20,000 in cash.

Police responded to a call that Mahomes’ home had been broken into but did not reveal whether anything was taken. The fact that there were no signs of forced entry suggests someone with knowledge of or access to the property was involved.

Patrick Mahomes Beefs Up Security

The quarterback has expressed his disappointment and frustration over the incident but said he was unable to discuss it in detail as investigations are ongoing.

According to TMZ, he has beefed up security at the residence.

“Our sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell us in the days after Mahomes’ Belton mansion was broken into on Oct. 6 … the Chiefs star heightened safety measures around his home,” the outlet notes.

TMZ adds that the gated community where Mahomes lives has also taken certain security measures to put residents’ minds at ease.

Meanwhile, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office has not released any information pertaining to suspects or what may have been taken, though it’s believed that the incident is being treated very seriously as the FBI is also reported to be involved.

The Bureau hasn’t confirmed or denied involvement at the time of writing.
