Las Vegas Aces star center A’ja Wilson is the frontrunner for the 2024 WNBA MVP award with her incredible statistics. The two-time WNBA champion leading the league in points and blocks has to set a WNBA single-season rebounding record. After breaking injured Angel Reese’s record, Wilson’s response in a post-game interview left social media in splits.

On Tuesday, the Aces beat the Seattle Storm 85-72, and Wilson registered seven rebounds to surpass Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese in the WNBA single-season rebounding. Before getting injured, Reese recorded 446 rebounds, averaging 13.1 per game.

In a post-game interview, A’ja Wilson reflected on her record-breaking 451 rebounds in 2024. She said, “That’s cool. I don’t hunt rebounds so it’s not something that is always on my mind when it comes to just getting the basketball for my team. … When it comes to getting them to get them, I’m not focused on that. I’m focused on putting the ball in the hoop.”

On her record-breaking achievement, Wilson said, “I mean, it’s a blessing. This league is tough, so if my name can be in the record books in some sort of way, it’s a blessing. So that’s cool.”

Didn’t Need To Cook Reese Like That: Fans React To Wilson’s Comments

With coach Becky Hammon and teammate Kelsey Plum, the two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year had a hilarious back-and-forth in the interview. Wilson appeared to take a subtle jab at Reese, which prompted hilarious responses from fans on social media.

In two weeks, Wilson broke the WNBA’s single-season scoring record, became the first WNBA player to reach 1,000 points in a single season, and registered a rebounding record on Tuesday. The Aces center is clearly the frontrunner to win the 2024 WNBA MVP.

Country Music Sensation Apologizes For His Embarrassing “Drunk” Tweet About Taylor Swift And The NFL, Deletes Social Media Account

Taylor Swift found herself on the end of some strange criticism this week, given that it came from a fellow singer.

Country music star Zach Bryan took to X/Twitter to post something strange and out of the blue, given that there was no football to provide context at the time.

“Eagles > chiefs Kanye > Taylor who’s with me?” he tweeted.

It didn’t take him long to learn that most people weren’t with him…

Zach Bryan Tried Explaining Why He Made The Comparison Between Kanye West And Taylor Swift

Bryan has since apologized for the post, claiming he was intoxicated when he shared it and wasn’t trying to annoy Swift and her fans as he loves her.

“For the record guys I wasn’t coming for Taylor the other night,” he wrote. “I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong. I know there’s a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor’s music and pray you guys know I’m human and tweet stupid things often.

“Hope I can explain this to her one day. Twitter gets me in trouble too much and I’d say it’s best I stay off it. I’m sorry to any Taylor fans I pissed off or let down. Love you guys and I’m trying my best!”

Bryan also claimed to have projected some frustration as he’s been going through a rough time.

He said he’s learned not to drink and tweet anymore. The country star has also deactivated his account following the backlash.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift has yet to offer a response, and it’s unlikely she will.

As long as the Chiefs keep on winning and her career keeps soaring, she’s probably not going to entertain any vitriol, online or otherwise.
