“I was thrilled to be invited to return,” Alison told TV Insider, which first broke the news of her return.

“I love playing Sami and I am always happy for the chance to come back. We always have to figure out scheduling and such, but if at all possible, I’m so glad to make it happen,” she added.

Besides her return to work on the soap that made her a household name, Sweeney is also working on another movie for Hallmark.

Since 2013, Alison has starred in numerous Hallmark TV movies as reoccurring characters Hannah Swenson and Alex McPherson in murder mystery movies.

“I can’t wait to share with everyone the concept,” she told TV Insider, before adding “But that will be later this year. I’m really proud of this movie.”

Alison left Days in 2014 after appearing on the show since 1993.

The actress shared a heartfelt tribute to her castmates on Instagram.

A video montage, set to a cover of Elvis Presley’s song, Can’t Help Falling In Love, showed everyone Arianne worked with on Days of Our Lives.

Videos were interspersed throughout, many of them were of her and her cast members being silly on set.

“I loved my job. I loved my friends. I loved my co-workers, but most of all I love all of you. When someone says you are irreplaceable…maybe, but the heart of an individual is not,” she captioned her post.

“I gave all my heart and always will. I could never have had this job unless I had all of you. From the bottom of my heart and beyond, I can’t thank you enough for loving to hate Nicole and for loving her again as she changed in life with all of you.”

“Thank you for being a part of my journey. This is an adventure that will live with me forever. Thank you for standing up for what is right,” Arianne continued.

“Thank you for standing by me. Thank you for acknowledging what this industry so easily takes advantage of. I will forever stand for you. I love you.”

Fans flooded Arianne’s comments section with well wishes with many saying they understood her decision to leave but hated to see her go.

“We hate seeing you go but so proud of the choices you made! You’re going to be deeply deeply deeply missed and I hope the show feels the impact,” one wrote.

“This makes me so sad,” said another.

“After your last show, I will be taking a break that may be permanent. I am 63 and have watched this show forever and I love it but cannot condone the way you were treated,” a third added.

“What an unnecessary loss for Days. You carried the show for decades, throughout all the writers were throwing at you,” said another.

“They will regret this. You are the best actor on the show. But I know you stand tall and firm and you should! Be proud. You spoke up for yourself and all women. You did the right thing and no one can take that away from you,” wrote one viewer.

DARK CLAIMS

In February, Arianne sued the producers of Days of Our Lives for sexual harassment on set.

She is suing Corday Production Inc. and executive producer Ken Corday in the lawsuit for discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination, according to Us Weekly.

Arianne alleged that she and other women were harassed on set.

The actress said that she experienced “sexually harassing comments” and “nonconsensual physical touching of a sexual nature.”

She also claimed that director Albert Alarr made the comments and Ken knew about them.

The court documents stated that Albert repeatedly subjected Arianne and her co-stars to harassment and discrimination that was based on their gender.

NEW DAY

Fans of Arianne won’t have to wait too long to see her on their screens again as she announced last month on Instagram that she will play The Madam in the upcoming film, Memec.

“Amazing time filming on @memecfilm,” the post read.

“I feel so fortunate to have played this delicious character! I could not have asked to be part of a better cast and crew! Thank you for making feel at home!”

She also shared three photos of her character in costume, which featured a white lace kimono and circular hat.
