Footage from earlier this year has resurfaced on social media showing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez being heckled during a town hall event with her constituents, some of whom were clearly outraged over the progressive congresswoman’s stance toward illegal immigration as New York City has been severely strained from the massive influx of migrants over the past few years.

During recent public events, AOC has continually been shouted out and heckled by constituents who are fed up with the consequences of her progressive policies, ranging from issues such as illegal immigration to the war in Ukraine.  Following the recent clip being shared to the internet, social media users joined the hecklers, voicing their disdain for AOC’s leadership.

During the incident shared to X in February, Ocasio-Cortez was highlighting aspects of the “Green New Deal,” stating, “A lot of environmental justice division to clean air in our schools and also implement climate policy and the education space. In 2020 the Cares Act passed in 2021 we started to See a lot of different stats…”

However, she was interrupted by a man who stood up and announced that he was running for Congress against AOC, sparking uproar in the room.  Others joined the man, with another individual shouting, “Secure the border now!  You haven’t said one word…you don’t care!  All you care about is illegal aliens…you don’t care about your constituents…you’re a disgrace!”

“AOC was shouted down by protestors last night in Astoria, NYC as she talked about her Green New Deal. Protestors accused Sandy Cortez of only caring “about illegal aliens.” They called her a “scrub” and “disgrace” who doesn’t care about constituents,” conservative commentator Paul A. Szypula wrote on X, sharing a clip of the incident.

Szypula further wrote in the comments section of his post, “Protestors yelled “secure the border” and “you only care about illegal aliens.” AOC stood there speechless because she knew her constituents were right. Illegals have flooded Astoria, NYC and ruined the way of life for New Yorkers.”  Another person said, “She is an absolute disgrace!”

The American Tribune reported on another incident surrounding AOC and the border crisis, in which the congresswoman was fact-checked in the middle of a hearing.  After AOC claimed that it wasn’t a crime to enter the United States and seek asylum.  Directly citing legal code, former ICE Director Tom Homan informed Ocasio Cortez that unlawfully crossing the border, whether a migrant is seeking asylum or not, is still a crime if they don’t go through a legal port of entry.  “When you’re in the country illegally, it’s violation eight United States Code, 1325,” Homan stated.  Watch the incident below:
