Blake Lively treated her husband, Ryan Reynolds, to a night of entertainment as they celebrated the “Deadpool & Wolverine” star’s 48th birthday on Wednesday.
The “Gossip Girl” alum took Reynolds and their three daughters to see a matinee performance of the Tony-nominated musical “& Juliet,” per People.
“I don’t know what to get him for his birthday? What do you get him for his birthday? I know he loves musicals, I love musicals, the kids love musicals. So it felt like the right choice!” Lively told the cast while backstage after the performance, according to a source present at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York City.

The couple went backstage with their three daughters after the performance.
Lively and Reynolds reportedly left the theater as big fans of the show, the insider shared, adding that the 37-year-old actress remarked that she was “blown away” by “how really well-written it is.”
The famous family attended the show quietly without the newest addition to their family — son, Olin, 1.

Reynolds “immediately started joking with the cast” while backstage, per the source.
“‘This is the best things I’ve ever seen in my life. You are all so talented, it’s ridiculous. You guys are the ones in showbiz, I’m such a fake! I could never do what you all did,’” the insider recalled the actor telling them.
A second source shared that Reynolds was “very, very sweet and generous with his time.”

The show’s cast posed for photos with Reynolds and Lively before they sang him “Happy Birthday.”
“Blake too — couldn’t have been kinder. They stayed a long time, and really made sure every actor felt seen and appreciated,” they said.
After some of the cast members joked with the family, the crew gathered to sing “Happy Birthday” to the “Proposal” star.
The couple snapped photos with the cast backstage and Lively took a few solo shots of Reynolds on the Broadway stage.
