After starting the season 5-0, Minnesota has suffered two straight losses to the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams in back-to-back weeks. It appears the rough stretch is affecting some of the team, especially Jordan Addison.

The wide receiver went to Instagram to post a cryptic message that read, “FREE 3.”

Of course, every time a player does something like this, social media comes up with all kinds of different theories. This situation has proven no different.

“Vikings imploding? They’re having a great season, but some players genuinely rather have stats than see their team win,” said one comment.

“they told me receivers should just be happy that the team is winning sooner or later, y’all gon listen to me about receivers; they get the bag of THEIR production, not how well the team does,” said another.

“On a 5-2 team with a strong 1 that demands double coverage this has to mean throw me the ball more because the odds of ending up in a better situation like the other wrs that got traded are very slim,” added a third.

However, this message could mean nothing and is another instance of players messing with fans.

Jordan Addison Is Having A Solid Season

Considering that Justin Jefferson lines up on the same offense, it’s understandable that Addison won’t be putting together crazy numbers.

However, he has been very solid when given the chance. He has accumulated 14 receptions, 231 yards, and one touchdown in five games.

It’s also worth noting that Addison is in just his second season, and the Vikings organization has a lot of faith in him, considering they spent a first-round pick.

Social media detectives noticed something interesting about Los Angeles Rams star Byron Young after he sealed Thursday night’s game against the Minnesota Vikings with a sack on Sam Darnold.

The game-sealing safety did not come without controversy, however. As you can see in the replay below, Byron Young got away with a blatant facemask on Darnold even though a referee was right there in the end zone to see it:

The said social media detectives noticed something fishy: Byron Young’s reaction after the play shows that even he was expecting to be flagged for a facemask:

 

The Vikings were trailing 28-20 and backed up on their own five-yard line before Darnold was sacked in the end zone for a safety. If the officials called that, Minnesota would have gotten 15 yards and a fresh set of downs with the chance to tie it.

The officials called nine penalties on the Vikings and just six on the Rams. Without a question, however, the biggest officiating mistake in this one was the Byron Young facemask that went uncalled.

Byron Young & Rams Defense Still Deserve Credit In Win

The inexcusable missed call by the official doesn’t take away what was a stellar effort by the Los Angeles defense on Thursday night. After giving up touchdowns on Minnesota’s first two drives, the Rams allowed just six points the rest of the way and let the offense do the rest in a potential season-saving 30-20 win.
