Sue Bird shows her political stance and Caitlin Clark might agree

The WNBA legend, Sue Bird revealed she will be voting for the Democrat’s Kamala Harris in the upcoming 2024 United States Presidential Election in the latest celebrity blow to Donald Trump and his Republican campaign.

Stars such as Robert de Niro and Taylor Swift have backed the 60-year-old woman to become the second black president and the first Indian president of the United States and now they can add Bird, a four-time WNBA champion and 13 times All-Star to that list.

“10 days until Election Day, and it’s time to make your choice heard,” Bird posted to Instagram. “I’m voting for Kamala Harris and many more.

“It’s not just about national elections — local elections shape the everyday life of our communities. From school boards to city councils, the decision made close to home matter just as much.

“Don’t sit this one out! Make a plan, get informed, and show up for the future we want. Let’s do this!”

Polls currently show a tight contest between Trump and Harris, who are nip-and-tuck in various states and especially the all-important swing states. A study conducted by CBS News currently has the 78-year-old one point behind the Democrat with them occupying 99% of the vote.

So any vote of success from an influential person will be well received by either candidate because if that celebrity can bring over even 100,000 votes to one side that could make the crucial difference in the popular vote.

Of course, Harris and Trump are really interested in the Electoral College votes due to the USA’s political system. The Electoral College is essentially the deciding factor as to who goes on to win the White House.

As the campaigns enter their twilight stages and begin hotting up, both Trump and Harris are clawing for any and all endorsements ahead of Election Day.

People voting in person can do so on Tuesday, November 5 whilst those voting via mail ballot can do so from this moment through to Voting Day.
