Week 3 delivered a tough result for Cincinnati Bengals fans as the team fell short in a 33-38 defeat against the Washington Commanders at Paycor Stadium on Monday.

Despite the Bengals playing on their home turf, they couldn’t edge out a win, suffering their third consecutive loss this season.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals are still looking for their first win in the 2024 regular season. While the game was closely contested, the 5-point loss highlighted the team’s ongoing struggles.

Despite these setbacks, Burrow remains optimistic, exuding confidence during his post-game press conference.

“We were pretty consistent all day… We’re not happy with where we’re at, but by no means is the season over. 0 and 3, 14 left to play. We just have to continue to get better,” Burrow said.

His message echoed the mindset of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who recently emphasized the importance of improvement even after victories.

However, while Mahomes’ team remains undefeated, Burrow and the Bengals are still searching for their breakthrough win.

Frustration Brewing in Cincinnati

Although Burrow remains hopeful, tensions seem to be rising within the Bengals‘ locker room.

Following the loss to the CommandersBurrow and head coach Zac Taylor were seen taking a separate path to have a private discussion, a moment that hinted at the growing pressure within the team.

Burrow described the conversation as “positive,” but he also acknowledged the frustration of sitting at 0-3.

Taylor shared similar sentiments, stating, “There hasn’t been one unit that’s really dominated to take the pressure off the other unit. It’s frustrating. It’s a kick in the gut when you put in all this work… and you start off 0-3.”

Looking ahead, the Bengals now face a crucial matchup against the Carolina Panthers, where they will go up against their former quarterback, Andy Dalton.

The team’s hopes rest on turning things around and securing their first win of the season, with the stakes higher than ever.
