Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, consistently makes headlines with his outstanding performances and commanding field presence. However, he is not the only Kelce who had a remarkable career. His brother, Jason Kelce, who used to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, made a name for himself with impressive contributions and achievements in his NFL career.

Jason’s contributions to the Eagles, including his role in their Super Bowl LII victory, are among the biggest achievements of his stellar career. Here, we will look closer at his path from college football to becoming a key player with the Eagles and his impact on and off the field.

Travis Kelce’s Brother: Early Life And Background

Jason Kelce was born in Westlake, Ohio, on November 5, 1987. He is the older brother of Travis Kelce, the Chiefs star. The Kelce family valued sports, with their father, Ed Kelce, who worked in steel sales, and their mother, Donna Kelce, who was a bank vice president. This environment helped both brothers develop a strong interest in sports.

Jason grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where he attended Cleveland Heights High School. There, he excelled in football as a running back and linebacker and also showed talent in hockey and music.

Jason started playing football at the University of Cincinnati. He initially joined as a running back but later switched to fullback and then to the offensive line. NFL scouts noticed his hard work despite injuries and position changes.

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted him in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, beginning a successful NFL career. Two years later, the Kansas City Chiefs drafted his brother Travis Kelce in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

When Did Jason Kelce Retire?

On March 13, 2024, Jason Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL after a successful 13-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles. This followed his notable 2023 season, during which he earned his seventh Pro Bowl selection and played a vital key role in the Eagles’ Super Bowl LVII appearance against the Chiefs, for whom his brother Travis Kelce played.

This Super Bowl was historic because it was the first time two brothers faced each other in the game. Jason’s retirement was emotional, as he thanked Philadelphia, his family, teammates, and coaches and felt proud of his brother’s achievements despite the Super Bowl loss.

Is Jason Kelce Single?

Jason is married to Kylie McDevitt, whom he met on Tinder. They married in April 2018 and have three daughters: Wyatt Elizabeth (born in 2019), Elliotte Ray (born in 2021), and Bennett Llwellyn (born in 2023). Jason and Kylie often share their family moments on social media, showing their close and loving relationship.

Who Is Better: Travis Kelce Or Jason Kelce?

Fans of both players often debate who the better Kelce is. Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, is known for his excellent receiving skills. He has won three Super Bowls (LIII, LIV, LVII) and has been selected to the Pro Bowl eight times.

Jason Kelce, a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, demonstrates his leadership and smart play on the field. He has one Super Bowl win (LII) and six Pro Bowl selections.

It’s important to remember that while Travis has won more awards, Jason’s leadership role and contributions to the Eagles are also very significant. Therefore, there is no definitive answer to the question of who is better than them. However, if you consider awards as the measure to rank someone better, then Travis is undoubtedly the better brother.

NFL Fans Are Pissed At Antonio Brown For His Insanely Insensitive Post About Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa Following His Serious Concussion

Football fans are ripping on former wide receiver Antonio Brown over his cruel and insensitive tweet about Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

In the third quarter of Thursday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills, Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion after his head made hard contact with Damar Hamlin during a routine tackle attempt.

Tagovailoa was quickly ruled out of the game, forcing the Dolphins to finish the contest with backup Skylar Thompson. The Bills went on to win 31-10 in a lopsided affair, but the Dolphins’ main concern is Tua’s health over the result of last night’s game.

Tua Tagovailoa suffered three concussions during the 2022 season and had to miss five games. Naturally, some fans and prognosticators on social media began to wonder if Tua may end up having to retire after another head injury scare.

As such, you can understand why fans were enraged with Antonio Brown’s tweet that coldly joked about Tagovailoa having CTE:

Fans wasted no time destroying the former Pro Bowl wide receiver for his insensitive tweet on Tua Tagovailoa:

Brown last played in the NFL three seasons ago, but as we’ve all learned, he’ll never stop saying out-of-line things on social media if it means attracting more attention to himself.

Tagovailoa’s night ended with 145 passing yards on 17 completions for one touchdown and three interceptions, including a pick-six. Thompson finished 8-of-14 for 40 yards and no touchdown in the blowout loss.

Dolphins Should Find More QB Depth Behind Tua Tagovailoa

With all due respect to Skylar Thompson, he’s not suited to be a long-term starting quarterback if Tua has to miss time. The Dolphins have too much talent in place and can’t afford another lost season because of lackluster quarterback depth behind Tagovailoa.

Old friend Ryan Tannehill is a potential option for Miami in free agency. Or they could look at trading for an experienced veteran like Joe Flacco, Jameis Winston or Andy Dalton. The bottom line is that GM Chris Grier must act if Tagovailoa misses more time.
