One Piece fans are proud of an element in their favorite series but their pride might be snatched by Yoshihiro Togashi’s Hunter x Hunter.
SUMMARY
Both the worlds of One Piece and Hunter x Hunter are assumed to be far bigger than the Earth, but a debate on which is the largest world is still ongoing.
While Eiichiro Oda gives an idea of what the whole world looks like, most of it remains unexplored in Hunter x Hunter.
Given that human population only exists in a small pocket of lake inside the Dark Continent, which is still unexplored land, Hunter x Hunter might win in world size comparison.
Yoshihiro Togashi’s Hunter x Hunter is famous for a couple of things. One, for its frequent hiatuses and second for its huge world that fans can’t even begin to wrap their heads around. In fact, the world of One Piece by Eiichiro Oda might be a dwarf by comparison.
In fact, both Hunter x Hunter and One Piece have this one thing in common, worlds so huge that it’s hard to comprehend their size. But which world is bigger? The debate has been going on for far too long.

The One Piece world is huge, and it’s estimated that the size of the planet is far bigger than Earth. In chapter 964 of the manga, Marco stated that there are over 20,000,000 islands in the world of One Piece. That’s a considerable number of islands. Given that in the One Piece world, the ocean covers most of the surface area of the planet, it can be presumed that the One Piece planet is bigger than our Earth.
Fans of the series have always been very vocal about the magnitude at which One Piece takes place. However, Eiichiro Oda has only attempted to cover a handfull of these islands since it is next to impossible to cover all of them in a single lifetime. But there is one other series with a world so big that it can even put Oda’s creation to shame.
A popular theory explains that the Hunter x Hunter world is much larger when compared to the One Piece world. However, at this point, most of the calculations used are speculative since none of the mangakas have actually revealed what the actual sizes of the Hunter x Hunter and One Piece worlds are when compared to Earth.
The Known Hunter x Hunter World is Just a Small Pocket in the Middle of the Unknown
The known world of humans in Hunter x Hunter exists at the very heart of the Dark Continent. It stands in the center of the giant Lake Moebius. Humans have attempted to reach the Dark Continent more than a 100 times but only 5 of them have been somewhat successful.
The Dark Continent stretches beyond the known world and fans are currently unsure what lies beyond the Dark Continent. While One Piece atleast gives an idea of the whole world, Yoshihiro Togashi is yet to explain just how gigantic the Hunter x Hunter world is. Given that the Dark Continent itself is surrounded by a water body, similar gigantic continents are bound to exist.

While Eiichiro Oda has tried his best to show as many islands in different arcs, and fans have a fairly good idea of how the rest of the world looks like, Togashi is yet to touch a majority of the map. The Dark Continent itself remains unexplored, and as such Hunter x Hunter fans doubt if they will ever see the end to the series.
