Haliey Welch, the now-famous “Hawk Tuah” Girl, spoke about her past and upbringing in an interview with Rolling Stone last week.

The Tennesee native, who took the internet by storm by coining the aforementioned term after being asked for her go-to bedroom move in a random street interview in Nashville, is now famous enough to attract attention from the most prominent publications.

As such, RS’s Joseph Hudak sat down for breakfast with her last week and got her to open up about her past.

The interview touched on a sad note as Welch revealed she has no contact with her mother and never had anything to do with her.

The 21-year-old was raised by her paternal grandmother, with whom she still lives, but she sees her dad pretty often.

“When Welch begins to share bits and pieces of her backstory, it offers hints as to why she leans on humor,” Hudak’s piece reads. “Welch was raised by her paternal grandmother from nine months old, and still lives with her today. She sees her father, a farmhand, somewhat regularly, but says she has no contact with her mother. “I’ve never had anything to do with her,” Welch says.”

The “Hawk Tuah” Girl Clearly Turned Out To Be Alright

Growing up without any form of contact with her mom couldn’t have been great, but all that we’ve seen since the birth of “Hawk Tuah” suggests Haliey is a great person with remarkable character.

Since becoming famous, she’s made a lot of money and is using some of it to help animals, donating to local pounds.

“Maybe this was, like, God’s gift to me or something,” she said of her newfound fame. “Everything that’s gonna come from this, it’s gonna be something good.”

While Haliey is unsure what she wants to do now, despite quitting her job, her publicist notes she’ll be looking to do “what is going to support her and her story best — and what she’s wanting to do in the future with comedy and philanthropy.”

We’re rooting for her, of course.

Brittany Mahomes has hit back at her critics after the wife of the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback was slammed for being caught liking a post related to the campaign of Donald Trump.

Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes, posted a strong but intriguing message on her Instagram story amid the significant backlash she has received.

The 28-year-old mother of two, soon to be three, “liked” one of the posts from the Republican nominee as many called for Tayor Swift to stop being around her.

Brittany Mahomes shared a quote from Shane Pruitt on Instagram: “Contrary to the tone of the world today… You can disagree with someone and still love them. You can have differing views and still be kind.”

Brittany herself appeared to send a message to her critics on social media by adding her own personal caption of, “Read that again!”
