Fans were unclear on what they heard after Josh Allen introduced himself on ‘Sunday Night Football’ this weekend.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback is looking to fire his team to a 4-0 record to start the new NFL season but will have to deal with a conference rival in the form of the Baltimore Ravens, who are looking to steady the ship after two opening losses.

Allen was heard saying, “Go Pokes,” during his intro before the teams squared off on the night.

Josh Allen Had Folks Asking Questions

As noted above, the use of the phrase wasn’t immediately clear to viewers

“Why did Josh Allen say go pokes??” someone asked.

Of course, it has everything to do with the fact that the quarterback played at Wyoming from 2015-17 after a season at Reedley College.

“Go Pokes” is a phrase associated with the Wyoming Cowboys and their fans, hence the two-word intro.

Everyone had the same observation and resulting joke after finding out Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola has a younger brother.

Said sibling is in the news this week, having committed to the Cornhuskers himself, and is expected to be part of the program’s 2026 recruitment class.

Dayton Railoa announced his commitment on Sunday night. He replaced his older brother as the starting QB at Georgia’s Buford High School following his departure for college and has led them to four wins from their first five outings.

Dayton’s commitment makes him the newest Raiola to be associated with the Huskers.

The boys’ father, Dominic Raiola, played for the school from 1997-2000 before going on to spend 14 years with the Detroit Lions in the NFL.
