Troy Aikman was looking for a way to put Patrick Mahomes name in his mouth, and he quickly found one during a game where the Chiefs quarterback was nowhere in sight.
While the Denver Broncos were taking on the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football, Joe Buck spoke on rookie quarterback Bo Nix and how teams were likely sick to their stomachs for passing him up in the 2024 NFL Draft.
After Buck finished with his comments, Troy Aikman jumped in and said, “A lot of people around the league are saying the same thing about why they didn’t grab Patrick Mahomes.”
Aikman bringing up Mahomes in a game where he isn’t even playing had fans blasting him.
“Did Troy Aikman just compare teams passing up on Bo Nix to teams passing up on Mahomes?” one fan asked.
“Joe Buck: Bo Nix is so good at football. Troy Aikman: Yeah, but how about Patrick Mahomes?” one fan said as he mocked Aikman.

Another guy chimed in, “And there it is Troy Aikman can’t help but mention Mahomes when he’s not even playing lmao.”
“Troy Aikman comparing Bo Nix to Patrick Mahomes. Oh god,” another annoyed fan stated.
Bo Nix Quietly Having A Better Season Than Patrick Mahomes
Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix is having quite the debut campaign.
Nix is making a strong impression in his rookie season with the Denver Broncos, leading the team to a 7-5 record and a playoff position under head coach Sean Payton.
It can be argued that he is having a better year than Patrick Mahomes.
In 12 games, Nix has 2,548 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
Mahomes has thrown for 2,979 yards for the year with 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Two days after leading the Chiefs to a victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Black Friday, Patrick Mahomes got to watch Allen and the Buffalo Bills square off against the 49ers at Highmark Stadium.
Allen’s Bills cruised to an easy 35-10 victory over the unraveling 49ers in the snowy conditions. The play of the game was this hook-and-ladder touchdown in the third quarter, courtesy of Allen and Amari Cooper:

The defending Super Bowl champions remain the top team in the AFC (an 11-1 record), with the only loss coming against the Bills in Week 11. Buffalo holds the head-to-head tiebreaker but must make up one game on Kansas City to secure the AFC’s top seed and first-round bye.
Patrick Mahomes vs. Josh Allen In The Playoffs? Seems Likely
A lot can happen between now and the start of the postseason, but it already feels like we’re poised to see Mahomes’ Chiefs vs. Allen’s Bills in January again. They’re far and away the two most complete teams in the AFC, after all.
