Big Sean‘s fans will be waiting just a little longer than originally planned for his new album Better Me Than You, as the rapper has revealed its release date has been pushed back.
Sean made the admission in the comments section of an Instagram post he put up on Monday (August 5).
In the caption, he wrote, “BETTER ME THAN YOU ALBUM SOON!”
One commenter replied, referring to Sean’s previously-announced release date of August 9: “Why u saying album soon like it’s not suppose to drop on the 9th !!!???!?”
Sean replied: “i gotta push it just a lil bit. Music done but jus organizing listening events, shows etc. might need a extra week or 2 to plan.”
Check out the exchange below.
In a clip of the two chatting posted on Sean’s TikTok, the Oscar-winning actor offers the Detroit MC some sage wisdom from his decades in the entertainment industry.
When you hit the edge of the material world and… you know, I call it cliff top. Cliff top is the opposing aspect of rock bottom. When somebody hits rock bottom and can go no lower, you need to get your shit together or you die,” Smith tells Sean, who nods his head while listening intently.
“Cliff top is either you find God or you die ’cause there’s nothing else here for you.”

“@WillSmith dropping [gem emoji]’s,” the rapper captioned the clip.
Big Sean followed in Will Smith’s footsteps by making his acting debut in BET’s Twenties, which was written and created by Lena Waithe. He also appeared as himself in the 2023 House Party reboot.
The 36-year-old has also been getting heavily involved in spirituality of late, recently announcing he has authored a book about mental wellbeing.
The book is titled Go Higher and focuses on five practices for purpose, success and inner peace in an effort to help people reach their full potential.
