Travis Kelce sparks RETIREMENT talk again in Taylor Swift’s ABSENCE with a gesture toward Myles Garrett

Travis Kelce sparks retirement talk again in Taylor Swift's absence with a gesture toward Myles Garrett

It turns out that the Kansas City Chiefs are indeed capable of winning a football game by multiple scores — but their victory over the Cleveland Browns has come at a cost.

Yes, the Chiefs improved to 13-1 after defeating the lowly Browns in Cleveland on Sunday, but the 21-7 victory saw superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes removed from the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury that has been deemed “week to week“. The ugly, low-scoring win left the Browns’ star pass rusher Myles Garrett worse for wear too, as Garrett was accidentally poked in the left eye early in a contest which left the Browns with a dismal 3-11 record.

Kelce greets Garrett and collects another jersey

After the Chiefs’ win, Garrett met up with Travis Kelce, who had a quiet afternoon with just four passes caught for a meager 27 yards. The two stars exchanged jerseys and appeared to wish each other well — for Kansas City, that means continuing its hunt for a historic Super Bowl three-peat.

However, speculation has been rife in recent weeks over Kelce’s NFL future amidst his romance with pop superstar Taylor Swift. While Swift did not attend Sunday’s game in Cleveland, her presence looms large over everything Kelce does. As he has struggled for consistency in 2024, Kelce has launched a successful podcast and taken his first steps toward launching an acting career while the couple figures out when of even if they want to be engaged in 2025.

“(Kelce) has been collecting too many jerseys this season,” one concerned fan wrote on X/Twitter, in reference to Kelce’s potential retirement.

Kelce’s departure from the NFL does not seem particularly close, despite the rumors. However, at 35 years old, Kelce knows his Chiefs career won’t last forever — and winning his fourth Super Bowl in February could be the perfect “capper” to his Hall of Fame-worthy career. In the meantime, Travis seems intent on having as much fun as possible, on and off the gridiron.
