Everyone’s talking about Michael Jordan’s eyes following the six-time NBA champion’s appearance at a recent UEFA Champions League fixture.

The former Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards shooting guard was at the Louis II Stadium in Monaco, France, on Thursday to take in a game between Monaco and Barcelona. Photos of him at the match sparked mass concern as his eyes appeared to be a worrying shade of yellow.

While this is nothing new, and Jordan’s eyes were already discolored during ‘The Last Dance’ in 2020, fans are worried because the condition hasn’t gone away.

A doctor’s comments from back then have resurfaced online amid the chatter about His Airness’ health.

“Yellow eyes should not be ignored because they are a sign of something more going on,” Dr. Val Phua said, per the New York Post. “There is literally more than meets the eye.”

A Doctor Once Suggested That Michael Jordan Had Nothing To Worry About Despite His Yellowed Eyes

The Post also cited comments from a doctor who spoke about MJ’s eyes a few years ago in a Reddit thread. There weren’t serious concerns over the condition back then as it was attributed to aging and not jaundice.

“His eyes are “anicteric” (meaning, not jaundiced). His eyes are what we call as having a “dirty” or “muddy” sclera,” the post reads. “It may appear yellow to the untrained eye, but in an outright jaundiced eye, the distribution of the yellowish color is very homogenous. In Michael’s eyes in the Last Dance, not only did I not see much yellow, but there were significant “splotches” and areas that remained white. So there – no big deal. A “muddy” sclera is a normal variation that’s commonly associated with aging.”

It is still unknown whether Michael Jordan is dealing with a serious health problem, but we would have to assume that he’s doing all he can to take care of it if that’s the case, as he certainly has the wherewithal to do so.
