Chiefs CEO Talks Having Taylor Swift at Season-Opener Tonight

Most football fans will have their eyes on the field as the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens return to action Thursday night for the NFL’s season opener, and a large chunk of them will also be scanning the stands for the return of Taylor Swift.

Swift, 34, is expected to be in attendance at Thursday night’s game to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce, according to Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt.

Hunt told Today that he isn’t sure where Swift will be sitting, though he did appear to confirm the “Blank Space” singer will be in the audience.

When asked if he knew where Swift would sit in the stands, Hunt said, “No, it’s always a little bit of a surprise, but I’m sure the TV cameras will find her.”

Swift was in attendance for 13 of Kelce’s games last season, as he and the Chiefs racked up an 11-6 season record before dominating the playoffs on their way to their second-straight Super Bowl title.

Kelce, also 34, and star teammate Patrick Mahomes will look to lead the Chiefs to an unprecedented third-straight Super Bowl win this season. And right from the start this time, Swift will be there in support.

Rumors about their romance began around the start of last year’s NFL season and were confirmed when Swift showed up at the Chiefs’ third game of the season.

Swift continued to cheer on Kelce from in the stands throughout the season, often sitting with other players’ partners, such as Mahomes’ wife Brittany Mahomes, Kelce’s parents Donna and Ed, and a group of her own friends, including Sophie Turner and Blake Lively.
It’s been fun to see them together over the last year,” Hunt told Today. “It caught us by surprise. When she showed up at that first game against the Chicago Bears, our fans went crazy.”

Hunt said Swift’s presence at games, and her relationship with Kelce has “certainly has impacted our fanbase.”

“We have a lot more female fans now and, specifically, young female fans,” the team official said.
