The synopsis of the film sees Alana, a die-hard Kansas City fan, meeting the team’s fictional director of fan engagement Derrick in her family’s bid to win the Fan of the Year contest.

Alana gets romantically involved with Derrick to whom she says that every time a member of her family where’s a “lucky Christmas hat” during the holiday season the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl.

The NFL giants released the trailer, which also shows legendary head coach Andy Reid making a cameo as he asks the couple to leave the field where they were sharing an intimate moment.

The clip was met with mixed reaction as a section of the fans found the plot to be a little too “cheesy” for their liking.

But many of them insist they will still watch it on Christmas this year.

One fan tweeted: “Lmao if everybody didn’t hate us before they def will now!”

Another commented: “I kinda hate us after seeing this.”

A third wrote: “I’m a Chiefs fan, but this is cringy as f**k.”

This one said: “The hatred is embraced!”

And that one stated: “Wait. Is this real?”
